Travel card

St.George Global Currency Card - DISCONTINUED is a prepaid Visa Debit card that lets you load and spend money in up to five currencies at a time, with the following 11 supported currencies available:

  • Australian dollars (AUD)
  • Canadian dollars (CAD)
  • Euros (EUR)
  • Great British pound (GBP)
  • Hong Kong dollars (HKD)
  • Japanese Yen (JPY)
  • New Zealand dollars (NZD)

Available to existing St.George customers, the Global Currency Card has no card issue fee, no fee for loading money from another St.George account and no ATM fees when you withdraw cash from Global ATM Alliance partner ATMs. It also comes with an emergency back-up card that you can use if your main card is lost or stolen while you're away.

Foreign cash

St.George's foreign cash service allows you to order money online and pick it up from your chosen St.George Branch – even if you are not an existing St.George customer. There are 18 different currencies available, including British pounds, Euros, US dollars, Japanese Yen and Indonesian Rupiah.

You also have the option of ordering multiple currencies in a single transaction, as long as the total order is worth at least AUD$500 and no more than AUD$10,000. Note that there is a fee of $4 per order for this service, and deliveries can take anywhere between three to five business days depending on how you pay.

St. George Foreign Cash ATMs

As well as ordering your foreign currency online, you can withdraw US dollars, British pounds, Euros and New Zealand dollars from any of St.George's pop-up foreign cash ATMs. Currently, there are ATM locations in Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Canberra. You can view details of these ATMs on the St.George website.

Global ATM Alliance

If you have a St.George debit card or credit card – including the Global Currency Card – you'll be able to enjoy fee-free ATM withdrawals when you're overseas through the Global ATM Alliance. This partnership gives you access to ATMs around the world, with alliance members including Westpac NZ, Deutsche Bank, Barclays Bank, Scotiabank and Bank of Nanjing.

When compared to using a St.George card at another overseas ATM, withdrawing money from one of these partners could save you a $5 fee. Note that other fees and charges (such as currency conversion costs or cash advance fees) may still apply when you're overseas.
