Thousands of households and small businesses across regional Australia can now access up to 100Mbps speeds on NBN's fixed wireless network for the first time.
The NBN Co's announced that network upgrades for 24,000 homes and small businesses are now complete.
This is part of its roadmap to enable upgrades for 750,000 premises by the end of 2024.
Here's the number of locations that can access faster internet state-by-state:
- NSW: 6,700
- QLD: 6,500
- SA: 2,200
- TAS: 1,200
- VIC: 5,900
- WA: 1,800
According to the NBN Co, all 24,000 locations are currently within the NBN satellite footprint and selected based on their proximity to existing NBN fixed wireless towers.
