Google Pixel 11 series: The price increase and all the biggest changes
Key takeaways
- Google's launched the Pixel 11 series with its usual four phones: the Pixel 11 from $1,499, the Pixel 11 Pro from $1,849, the Pixel 11 Pro XL from $2,099 and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold from $2,799.
- The Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold have seen the bulk of the price increase, both up between $60 and $100 on last year.
- All four run Google's new Tensor G6 chip, start with 256GB of storage and get 7 years of updates. There's more focus on refinement this year than major upgrades.
- The Pixel Watch 5 arrives alongside them, along with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 in a new Olive colour and the first-ever Pixel Tag, which won't be available until later this year.
Google has finally taken the wraps off the Pixel 11 series.
Here's a rundown of pricing and availability, what's shared across all four phones and a breakdown of each one.
How much does the Pixel 11 series cost?
The prices have gone up compared to last year, depending on which model you opt for, but more on that right after this breakdown.
| Model | Price |
|---|---|
| Google Pixel 11 256GB | $1,499 |
| Google Pixel 11 512GB | $1,699 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro 256GB | $1,849 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro 512GB | $2,049 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro 1TB | $2,399 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro XL 256GB | $2,099 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro XL 512GB | $2,299 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro XL 1TB | $2,649 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold 256GB | $2,799 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold 512GB | $2,999 |
| Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold 1TB | $3,349 |
At 256GB, the Pixel 11 is $1,499, exactly the same as the Pixel 10 was last year.
The Pixel 11 Pro is also unchanged, with the 256GB model at $1,849, 512GB at $2,049 and 1TB at $2,399.
So, while the starting price looks $150 higher, that's only because Google has ditched the cheaper 128GB model.
The range now starts at 256GB.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL is where we see a proper price hike.
It's $100 more than the Pixel 10 Pro XL across every storage option, starting at $2,099 for 256GB (up from $1,999) and reaching $2,649 for 1TB (up from $2,549).
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is also $100 more at 256GB ($2,799) and 512GB ($2,999), while the 1TB model is up by a slightly smaller $60 to $3,349.
When can you buy the Pixel 11 series in Australia?
Pre-orders have already begun as of 13 August 2026.
You can buy any of the models directly from the Google Store or through the usual retail and telco partners such as JB Hi-Fi, Optus, Telstra and Vodafone.
Keep in mind that pre-order availability might be staggered to a bit later in the morning.
The phones will be on sale from 20 August.
If you plan to buy outright, you can pair your phone with one of these SIM-only deals.
What's the same across the Pixel 11 series?
Before we get into each phone, here's what the whole range has in common.
Every model runs Google's new Tensor G6 chip, which it reckons is up to 20% more power-efficient and loads apps 15% faster than last year.
There's a small design change across the full range, besides the Fold.
The camera bar on the back has been redesigned with edge-to-edge glass that flows into the metal frame.
All four phones will launch on Android 17, get a new Titan M3 security chip and come with 7 years of updates.
They are IP68-rated for dust and water resistance and charge wirelessly with Pixelsnap, Google's magnetic snap-on system.
Plus, there's a free VPN built in for a bit of extra privacy when you're on public Wi-Fi.
They also share Google's big Gemini AI push this year, but more on what that actually does further down.
Now onto each phone.
Google Pixel 11
The Pixel 11 looks similar to last year's Pixel 10.
The screen is the same 6.3-inch Actua panel at 3,000 nits, bright enough to stay readable outdoors and the camera carries straight over from the Pixel 10.
You get the same 48MP main, 13MP ultrawide, 10.8MP 5x telephoto and 10.5MP selfie camera setup.
The only change is that the digital Super Zoom can now reach 30x instead of 20x.
You're looking at 30+ hours between charges and up to 55% back in about half an hour with a fast enough charger.
The Pixel 11 is available in Frost, Pistachio, Hibiscus and Obsidian.
Google Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL
The two are basically the same phone in different sizes, give or take the battery.
The biggest change from last year is the on the camera front.
Pro Zoom now stretches to 120x, up from 100x on the Pixel 10 Pro, so you can pull in far-away detail even further.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL also have a redesigned telephoto lens that pulls in 32% more light than last year to further improve zoom and low-light shots.
They also includes Instant Night Sight, which Google says delivers up to 4.5x faster low-light photo capture compared to the standard Night Sight on the other models.
The screens are brighter too, hitting 3,600 nits (Google says that's about 9% brighter than the Pixel 10 Pro) and are now more than twice as scratch-resistant.
There's also a funky new feature called HiLight, which is essentially a ring of lights around the flash that glows for calls from your favourites or pulses when Gemini's listening.
This way you're not constantly checking your screen.
Here are a few other specs you can expect:
- A 6.3-inch (Pro) or 6.8-inch (Pro XL) Super Actua display at 3,600 nits
- A pro camera setup with a 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide and 48MP 5x telephoto, plus 120x Pro Zoom
A 42MP front camera, Instant Night Sight for quicker low-light snaps, and Pro Stable Video up to 8K - 12GB or 16GB of RAM, with storage up to 1TB
- 30+ hours of battery, with the Pro XL topping up to about 75% in half an hour and the Pro to about 55%
- Colour options include Canyon, Olive, Fog, or a new matte Obsidian, which is a first for a Pro model
Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold
The big change is how it feels in the hand.
It's about 1mm thinner, almost 10% lighter (down to 239g from 258g) and, according to Google, 3x stronger than last year's Fold.
Part of that comes from a new "dual-pill" camera design that trims the bulk so the phone folds flat.
The cover screen has also been upgraded to a brighter Super Actua panel, hitting up to 3,600 nits where last year's Fold topped out around 3,000.
The camera setup remains largely unchanged though the main camera now pulls in 56% more light, so low-light shots should look noticeably better.
Here's a rundown of some of the specs highlights.
- A 6.5-inch cover screen that unfolds into an 8-inch Super Actua Flex display
- A triple camera with a 48MP main, 10.5MP ultrawide and 10.8MP telephoto, plus Super Zoom up to 30x
- 24+ hours of battery, and up to 50% charge in about 30 minutes
- HiLight and Pixelsnap wireless charging
- Colour options are Olive or Obsidian
What are the big AI-related changes this year?
Gemini, Google's AI assistant, can look across your apps and tee things up before you even ask.
For instance, if a friend texts asking whether you're free, it can pull up your calendar without you going and finding it yourself.
The other one worth mentioning is on the camera.
A new mode called Magic Capture grabs a photo and a video in a single tap, so you're not fumbling for the perfect moment.
There's also Camera Looks, which lets you create and save your own film styles - think of them as your own set of colour looks you can reuse for a consistent vibe across your photos.
Circle to Search now works straight from the camera, meaning you can point your phone at something in real life and find out what it is.
