Finder reveals Australia’s best home loans for 2026

To help Australians find the best mortgages in the country, Finder has announced the winners of its Home Loans Awards 2026.
From Macquarie Bank to Unloan, the awards showcase the best home loan products across 15 different categories.
Graham Cooke, head of consumer research at Finder, said Finder's Home Loan Awards are designed to identify which lenders and products are delivering consistent value.
"We've crunched the numbers to unearth the best mortgages.
"By assessing products monthly, the methodology takes into account performance over a sustained period rather than products with good short-term rates and marketing-driven perks.
"There is a huge variety in the brands represented in this year's awards, showing you shouldn't just default to a brand name you recognise and hope for the best."
Unloan won three awards, including best value home loan, refinance variable home loan and owner occupier principle & interest variable home loan.
Easy Street, Up and Hume Bank each took out two categories. Notably, Up won the best home loan for first home buyers as well as the variable home loan with offset award.
Hume Bank was strong on 1-year fixed loans, winning both the owner occupier and investor categories.
Easy Street was recognised as the best customer-owned home lender and for the investor principle & interest variable home loan.
Macquarie Bank won the overall Provider of the Year for home loans and for investor home loans specifically, while ING was the strongest provider for owner occupier loans across the board, winning the Provider of the Year award for owner occupier home loans.
The Provider of the Year awards are based 50% on product data and 50% on customer satisfaction surveys, revealing true excellence at both levels.
More than 1 in 3 (35%) homeowners said they struggled to pay their mortgage in January, according to data from Finder's Consumer Sentiment Tracker (CST).
Cooke said now was the perfect time to review your mortgage.
"A simple switch to an award-winning product could put thousands of dollars back in your pocket over the life of your loan.
"In a year where every dollar counts, these winners represent the crème de la crème of the Australian market," Cooke said.
Suncorp Bank, Newcastle Permanent, The Capricornian and Police Credit Union took out the remaining categories.
