Dr Benjamin Coorey is the founder and CEO at Archistar, the world's first artificial intelligence that helps property professionals to quickly and easily find profitable underdeveloped sites. Archistar also helps developers to assess sites for feasibility before acquisition, as well as enabling them to generate and test dozens of architectural design strategies, all in a matter of minutes.

What's your proudest achievement?

There are many to choose from, but I would say completing my PhD would be one of the best. It enhanced my critical and innovative way of thinking which is an important skill if you want to be bold and transform an industry.

What's something that you have learned in business that took you by surprise?

It is not all about the technology. If you are going to aim big, you need a great product, but you also need to tell your story and build relationships. You can have a nice product or idea, but without good staff, support, investors and great clients, you will not get too far.

How do you plan on growing your business in the near future?

We are expanding across all fronts. Our team has tripled during COVID-19, and our client base and revenue is growing rapidly in Australia and overseas in the US and UK. Our segments have also expanded from property developers and real estate agents to home builders, government agencies and enterprise architecture and engineering firms.

What other business leader do you most admire and why?

Elon Musk is great to follow. I love his presentation style and I look up to any business leader that has the courage to take on impossible challenges against all odds.

What's the best piece of business advice you've ever received?

Engage with your clients. Early adopters have a wealth of knowledge about the industry and problem you are solving and quite often want to help you make the product better.

What advice would you pass on to someone starting out in your area?

Build a prototype. A lot of people have ideas, but don't make much progress unless they bite the bullet and have something to show.
