South Australia: How to turn 20 days of leave into 52 of holiday time

South Australia, here’s how to maximise your holidays in 2018.

Let’s face it. Four weeks out of 52 is barely enough holiday time. We thought it was time to help get South Australians crafty with their 20 days of annual leave, and have pieced them perfectly around 2018’s public holidays to make the most out of their little time off.

It turns out you can come up with 50 days worth of long weekends and extended getaways with a little bit of planning.

In those 52 days off, here are all the adventures you can take:

  • 1-day trip to Sydney to ring in the New Year (three days if you include the weekend of 30-31 December)
  • 3-day trip to Canberra to spend Australia Day in the capital
  • 24-day Europe trip in March and April
  • 5-day Tasmanian Easter break
  • 3-day Kangaroo Island tour in June
  • 3-day spring staycation in South Australia’s wine regions in September/October
  • 10-day ski holiday in Canada’s Rocky Mountains for Christmas and into the new year

Take off the following days in italics as annual leave:

Monday 1 January (Public Holiday - New Year's Day)
