Qantas & Velocity: Finder data reveals May’s best frequent flyer credit cards

HappyTravels_1800x1000

Key takeaways

  • Right now, you can get over 100,000 bonus points with some of May's top frequent flyer credit cards. That's enough for an overseas flight.
  • Be sure to compare the card's annual fee and balance this against the card's benefits. If you don't take advantage of the points it's an expensive card.
  • What's next: Check out the top frequent flyer offers right now.

1. Qantas Money Titanium

The Qantas Money Titanium has a Finder Score of 9.9 in the frequent flyer category, that's the highest score on the market right now. And it's one of the biggest points offers: 150,000 Qantas Points.

But there's a very big catch with this card. A $1,200 annual fee. The Titanium card is for high earners who are chasing higher Qantas status tiers, because this card gives you a 20% bonus when you book eligible flights with the card.

And you get a 10% discount on a few flights a year, plus 1.25 points per dollar spent (capped at $12,500 per statement period) and 2 Qantas First Lounge Invitations per year.

2. ANZ Frequent Flyer Black

The ANZ Frequent Flyer Black has a Finder Score of 9.8. It's probably a better option for the average frequent flyer because the annual fee is just $425.

And you can still get a ton of bonus Qantas Points: 130,000 of them in fact. But you have to hold the card for 12 months to get the full stack of points. You get:

  • You get 90,000 points plus $200 back when you spend $5,000 on eligible purchases in the first 3 months.
  • Plus 40,000 points when you keep the card for over 12 months.

This card also gives you plenty of other perks too. There's a reason it keeps winning Finder Awards.

3. Qantas Money Platinum

The Qantas Money Platinum has a Finder Score of 9.6 and offers up to 120,000 bonus Qantas Points with a $349 annual fee ($399 after that).

To get those points you'll need to spend $5,000 in the first 3 months, which gets you 80,000 points. You get the rest if you haven't earned Qantas Points with a credit card in the last 24 months (that's a big caveat as it excludes veteran frequent flyers).

You also get 2 complimentary single-entry lounge invitations per year and a dedicated concierge.

4. American Express Velocity Platinum Card

The American Express Velocity Platinum Card has a Finder Score of 9.2.

This card has a straighforward offer. New Amex customers can get 50,000 bonus Velocity Points when they spend $5,000 on eligible purchases in the first 3 months.

They can also get up to 100 bonus Status Credits and a high earn rate is 1.25 Velocity Points per dollar. The annual fee is $440, which is on the higher side. But this card is a good way to earn Velocity Points and higher status.

5. Qantas American Express Ultimate Card

The Qantas American Express Ultimate Card has a Finder Score of 9.1. Like the Velocity Platinum above, you can get the 50,000 bonus points if you're a new Amex customer and spend $5,000 in the first 3 months.

The earn rate is also 1.25 points per dollar and the annual fee is a touch higher at $450. You also get a $450 annual Qantas Travel Credit, which covers the fee nicely.

This offer ends on 28 July 2026.
