A great balance transfer credit card lets you take control of your card debt while keeping fees and rates low.

Every month Finder ranks the market's top balance transfer credit card offers, giving each offer a score out of 10.

The best cards this month all give you a 0% intro rate for 24 to 30 months, with a one-off balance transfer fee and the card's annual fee.

1. St.George Vertigo Card

The St.George Vertigo Card leads the pack once again this month, with a Finder Score of 9.9.

St.George shares the top spot with its sister cards (they're identical) from Bank of Melbourne and BankSA.

These cards all have a 0% balance transfer offer for 24 months, which is one of the longest offers around. The balance transfer fee is only 1% of your balance, and the annual fee is very low at $55.

2. Virgin Money Anytime Rewards Credit - Balance Transfer Offer

The Virgin Money Anytime Rewards Credit Card - Balance Transfer Offer has a Finder Score of 9.79.

Like the Vertigo cards, Virgin Money's Anytime Rewards Credit Card gives you a 0% balance transfer for 24 months with a 1% fee.

The annual fee is higher at $149. But this is a rewards card that earns you Virgin Money points on your spending too.

3. Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card - Balance Transfer Offer

The Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card - Balance Transfer Offer has a Finder Score of 9.78.

This is a very different credit card but once again there's a 0% balance transfer offer for 24 months with a 1% balance transfer fee. And there's a $149 annual fee.

This card also comes with a $129 annual Virgin gift card that covers some of that fee. And you can earn Velocity Points rather than Virgin Money reward points.

4. ANZ Low Rate Credit Card

The ANZ Low Rate Credit Card has a Finder Score of 9.45 in the balance transfer category. This card has a really strong offer: 0% for 30 months.

But the balance transfer fee is higher, at 3% of your balance. On the flip side, there's no annual fee in the first year.

5. Westpac Low Rate Card

The Westpac Low Rate Card has a balance transfer Finder Score of 9.76.

This card offers 0% interest of 26 months with a 2% balance transfer fee.

The annual fee is only $59, which is lower than most cards but fairly standard for a low rate card.
