Entries are now open for the Finder Green Awards 2023, which celebrate businesses, brands and people that are leading the way in environmental sustainability.

This is Finder's fourth time running the Finder Green Awards and this year there are 25 categories open for entry spanning industries, teams and individuals.

Entries are assessed based on a range of environmental metrics such as greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy usage and waste avoiding landfill as well as industry-specific metrics for each category.

Entry is completely free and companies are encouraged to enter as many categories as relevant.

The Finder Green Awards exist to help consumers make better, greener decisions every day by highlighting the sustainable options across a range of industries that Finder compares. These include energy, insurance, banking, investing, shopping, superannuation and telecommunications.

Ben King, head of sustainability at Finder, put the call out to all Aussie businesses to throw their hat in the ring and demonstrate their commitment to a sustainable future.

"Consumers are looking for ways to live more sustainably so we want to acknowledge the companies that are making this genuinely possible.

"We know that the majority of Australians are concerned about their carbon footprint and looking for more sustainable options across the board.

"The Finder Green Awards does the hard work for Australian consumers in those particularly complex categories."

Finder's Consumer Sentiment Tracker, a monthly survey of 1,000 respondents, has shown 66% of Aussies are somewhat or extremely worried about their carbon footprint and 44% consider a company's environmental and social efforts very or extremely important when purchasing products or services.

New categories in 2023 include Green Stock Broker of the Year, Green Investment App of the Year and Green Loan of the Year.

Chris Ellis, CEO of Finder Australia, said the Finder Green Awards aim to set a benchmark for sustainability that supports Australians to make greener decisions.

"These awards are one of the highlights of my year and I look forward to recognising the companies that are doing their part for sustainability and helping their customers to do the same."

Submissions are open as of today and entries will be accepted until Thursday 27 April 2023. Winners will be revealed at a ceremony in June 2023.
