Amex Qantas Ultimate Card now gives you up to 120,000 bonus Qantas Points

Key takeaways
- American Express has increased the bonus Qantas Points offer on its Qantas Ultimate Credit Card.
- New customers who meet the spend criteria can get 70,000 Qantas Points in the first 3 months, plus 50,000 points in the second year with the card.
- What's next: This is one of the biggest Qantas Points offers on the market right now.
New Amex customers can now score up to 120,000 bonus Qantas Points on the American Express Qantas Ultimate Credit Card.
That's easily one of the biggest bonus Qantas Points offers on the market. And with an annual fee of $450, it's a relatively cheap option as well (in frequent flyer card fee terms, that is).
How to get 120,000 Qantas Points
To get the full stack of bonus Qantas Points, you'll need to:
- Be a new American Express customer.
- Apply online by 17 November 2026.
- Spend $5,000 on eligible purchases in the first three months with the card to get 70,000 Qantas Points.
- Spend $5,000 on eligible purchases in the first three months of your second year with the card to get a further 50,000 Qantas Points.
This is a very good deal considering the annual fee is $450. And this fee is offset by a $450 yearly Qantas Travel Credit. If you use this credit, the card fee is covered before you even consider the points value.
While it does take over a year to get the full bonus Qantas Points in your account, those points are worth quite a lot.
Those points are easily enough to get you an overseas return flight if you book Classic Economy Reward flights in advance.
This offer comes at a time when several banks have announced downgrades to their points-earning credit cards ahead of the credit card surcharge ban in October.
It seems that the whole credit card points market is going to get less rewarding, with higher fees, smaller bonus points offers and lower earn rates.
But this Amex offer proves that there are still worthwhile deals out there, at least for now.
