New data from PetO has revealed exactly how much we love our pets, with Aussies expected to drop more than $1 billion this Christmas.

Owners are forecast to spend an average of $80 on treats and food this festive season, while 13% are choosing to go above and beyond by spending over $200 on their pet.
1 in 3 pet owners even admitted they're planning to spend more on their pet than a family member.
"While many pet owners in the past have used the Christmas sales to stock up on essential items, we're seeing rapid growth in the types of products that you'd expect to see under the Christmas tree, from toys to special treats," shared PetO CEO, Michael Hollis.
"Pets are family, and we want to make sure they're part of every tradition, whether that's posing for photos with Santa or enjoying a festive feast with the rest of the family."
