Vodafone's $0 iPhone 17 offer

Here's how you can get any of the models for $0 when you sign up with Vodafone.

  • Trade in an eligible device, sign up to its $79 Extra Large SIM plan (500GB of data per month), and stay connected for 36 months.
  • By doing this, Vodafone will give you $1,200 in credit, which will be applied in $33.34 monthly instalments over 36 months.
  • For example, if you want the iPhone 17 Pro 256GB for $0 (RRP $1,999), you'll need to trade in an iPhone 14 128GB or above in good working order.
  • Even with an old or damaged phone, you can still trade it in for $1,200 credit and just pay the difference on the iPhone 17 model you want. For instance, the iPhone 17 Pro 256GB would end up costing you $799.
  • You can boost those savings further with Vodafone's second offer - $200 bonus credit when you trade in an eligible phone and sign up to an iPhone 17 plan over 12, 24 or 36 months. This deal isn't limited to its $79 Extra Large plan.
  • Both offers end on 14 October 2025.

Is Vodafone's iPhone 17 offer worth it?

If you don't mind signing up with Vodafone for 36 months and are happy with its network coverage, then it's not a bad offer.

The catch is that if you leave early, you'll forfeit the remaining credit and will have to pay the cost of the device. And the cost of the SIM-only plan itself is on the higher end.

Here's a further breakdown of the maths to help you decide:

  • Let's say you want to upgrade to an iPhone 17 Pro 256GB and trade in your iPhone 14 128GB.
  • iPhone 17 256GB RRP = $1,999
  • Plan credit = $1,200
  • Trade-in value of your iPhone 14 (128GB) in good working order = $600
  • Trade-in bonus = $200
  • You will receive a total credit of $2,000 when they stay connected to the $79 Extra Large Plan over 36 months.
  • The total credit will be applied to your account as $55.57 a month over 36 months.

Alternatively, you could just take advantage of the bonus credit offer, which gives you more flexibility. Or, if you prefer to sign up with Optus, we're giving away a $250 gift card on top of its iPhone 17 deal.
