What's new with Totality?
A lot has changed recently. If you remember this platform as Saxo, you're not wrong. In August 2025, Saxo's Australian operations were rebranded to Totality after being majority-acquired by South African fintech firm DMA.
Key changes include:
- New Platforms. The old SaxoTraderGO and SaxoTraderPRO platforms were retired for Australian clients on 1 April 2026. They have been replaced by the new Totality platform suite: Totality Core, Totality Edge and Totality Apex.
- New Ownership. While Saxo Bank retains a minority stake, Totality is now majority-owned by DMA.
How does Totality work?
Totality is an online broker that offers trading on more than 60,000 financial products, including forex, CFDs, global stocks and bonds. It's regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and holds an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL).
While it was formerly the Australian arm of the Danish Saxo Bank, it now operates as a separate entity with its own platform but still uses Saxo's underlying trading infrastructure. This gives Australian traders access to deep liquidity and a huge range of global markets. You can find out more about the basics of how to trade forex here.

What trading platforms does Totality offer?
Totality has replaced the old Saxo platforms with its own proprietary suite, designed for different levels of trading experience. You can access the platforms on desktop, web and mobile apps.
- Totality Core. This is the main platform for managing your account, handling deposits, withdrawals and administrative tasks.
- Totality Edge. Formerly SaxoTraderGO, this is the platform for most active traders. It provides access to all asset classes, news feeds, live charting and analysis tools.
- Totality Apex. This is the advanced, professional-grade platform. It's designed for high-volume, multi-screen traders and features advanced trading tools, algorithmic orders and super-fast execution. It's a great platform if you need to read forex charts with sophisticated tools.
What are Totality's fees and spreads?
Totality has a tiered pricing structure that offers better rates for more active traders. Here’s a breakdown of the key costs.
- Spreads. For forex, fees are built into the spread. Spreads on major pairs like AUD/USD start from 0.4 pips, while EUR/USD starts from 0.5 pips. These are the minimums, with average spreads being higher.
- Commissions. There is no commission on forex spot or forward trades. Commissions do apply to other products like CFDs on shares, with ASX share CFDs starting at 0.04% for First-tier clients (minimum $5) and 0.08% for Classic account holders (minimum $8).
- Inactivity fee. There is no inactivity fee.
- Deposit and withdrawal fees. There are no fees for online deposits or withdrawals.
- Currency conversion fee. A fee of up to 0.45% applies when you trade an instrument in a currency different to your account's base currency. You can learn more about how brokers charge in our guide to forex trading spreads, pips and fees.
