How much can I make as an Uber driver?
Take-home earnings from Uber fluctuate massively, depending on the time of day you work and where you're driving.
In Australia, what you take home can vary from trip to trip and week to week based on things like when and where you drive, demand, promotions and the fees that apply. According to our figures, drivers in Australia have an average income of $33.15 per hour before Uber takes its 27.5% cut. Hello there! I am an International student, living in Brisbane, 24 years old with a 5 years driving experience (I got my driving licence in 2019 back in my country from European Union). Do I need to have any experience of driving in Australia, or there are any extra requirements for foreign people? I want to know if I am eligible for Uber drive. Thank you!
Hi Dragos,
Thanks for leaving a question on finder.
To be eligible as an Uber driver in AU, You need to have held a full driver’s licence in your Australian state or territory for at least 12 months. You also need to be listed as an insured driver for the vehicle you plan to drive. For further clarification, you can speak with Uber directly.
Please send me a message if you need anything else. :)

how much gst does uber take from the rider fares
Hi John,
Thanks for leaving a question on finder.
Under Australian tax law, Uber drivers are required to be registered for GST. As a GST-registered business owner, you are required to pay 1/11th of your gross income to the ATO as GST. This means you must pay GST on all amounts you receive from your passenger or from Uber.
Cheers,
Joel
