I wanted to know what my options are for a reloadable prepaid Visa card for a teenage girl. I’d like her to learn how to use one wisely as most transactions are carried out using a card. However all the information I seem to find is old. As a teenage girl shopping at local fashion stores are a must, so my questions is would she be able to use it anywhere. As well as at Kmart, target etc as well? I get the fees and the possible delays in reloading it. I guess it’s the ease or use and what happens if it’s lost etc. any assistance would be great. Thanking you in advance.

Do what are the fees for reloading money and can this be used on the net without being linked to an account?

Hi Jill. Thanks for your question. ANZ do not offer this product for consumer to consumer use anymore. They offer a similar product which is designed for business to consumer use. They do offer pre-paid VIsa gift cards – there is a one time fee when you purchase the card and add value to it. Once the value of the card is used, you will have to purchase another card. These cards can be used without linking them to a bank account. Jacob.

I would like to get a card and sent it to my son’s overseas (Taiwan). The card is going to be in his name so that I can reload it when needed. Can I apply for him?
    Please advise.

Hi Catherine. Yes, you can do this. It works like a normal pre-paid card, you can go purchase it, top it up with money and send it off. It doesn’t have a name on the front so anyone can use it. Thanks.

Is the prepaid visa card still available.
I tried to organise one through my local branch, to be told that they did not exist.
I wish to use one for a business account.
