Key takeaways

  • Superloop crowned NBN provider of the year.
  • Dodo wins 5 categories, including budget and everyday use NBN provider.
  • Aussies paid a whopping $986 million in loyalty tax for the NBN last year.

Australia's top-performing internet providers have been revealed in Finder's Broadband Awards 2026.

From Dodo to Superloop, the awards recognise excellence in speed, value, and reliability.

Finder's team of experts analysed more than 40 providers over a 12-month period to reveal the winners.

Mariam Gabaji, utilities expert at Finder, said the awards are designed to help Australians cut through the noise of a complex internet market.

"We've done the heavy lifting to find the providers that stack up well for both speed and value, rather than just flashy marketing offers that last a few months.

"We've analysed internet plans from 20+ providers and baked in real customer feedback to find the ones that actually hold up.

"Whether you're after a basic budget deal or need the fastest speeds for a big household, the award winners give you a good place to start if you want to find a reliable provider," Gabaji said.

Superloop was named the NBN Provider of the Year, taking home the top honour for its combination of high-performing plans and top-tier customer satisfaction.

For Aussies prioritising speed, Superloop also won the category for hyperfast speeds, while SpinTel was named the top provider for ultrafast speeds.

Dodo was crowned with five Product Awards wins, including best everyday use NBN provider for the second year running. It also proved itself to be the best brand for Aussies on a budget with its win in the budget NBN provider category.

TPG has been named the best wireless broadband provider for the second year in a row. As more Australians explore wireless home internet as an alternative, it continues to feature as a key option in the category.

Finder analysis shows Australians paid a whopping $986 million in loyalty tax for the NBN in 2025.

Gabaji said the best deals were typically reserved for new customers.

"The best deals and providers change over the years. If you haven't compared broadband providers in the last 12 months, you're probably paying too much.

"Between introductory offers and rewards – for example Finder is currently offering a $110 digital Visa card when you switch to an eligible Dodo NBN plan – the savings are too big to ignore.

"A quick comparison today could save you hundreds over the year, especially with news of wholesale NBN price increases from 1 July and the likelihood of providers lifting prices."
