Washing machine owners are a loyal bunch and Finder's 2026 Customer Satisfaction Awards put that loyalty to the test. We asked real front-load washing machine owners from across Australia to rate their machine on how much they love it, how reliable it's been, how easy it is to use and clean, and whether it feels worth the money. It's exactly the kind of purchase Australians tend to research heavily before buying, since a front loader is a big-ticket appliance you'd expect to keep around for a decade or more.

This year, Bosch dominated the field, walking away with five out of the seven award categories on offer, while Fisher & Paykel claimed the remaining two.

Bosch swept the board this year

Owners crowned Bosch the Most Loved machine overall, a category that really comes down to everyday satisfaction and usually signals who'll go back and buy the same brand again. The brand also took out Most Reliable and Top Performance, its two strongest showings of the awards, and rounded things out with wins for Easiest to Clean and Most Recommended. That last one is arguably the hardest category to take out, since it means owners are willing to put their own reputation on the line to vouch for a brand. A few of these wins were razor close too, with Bosch only just getting the better of Fisher & Paykel on reliability.

On top of its five category wins, Bosch also picked up two Highly Commended results, landing just behind Fisher & Paykel on both Value and Easiest to Use. Put it all together and Bosch placed in every single one of the seven categories this year.

Fisher & Paykel claimed two wins

Fisher & Paykel didn't leave empty-handed either. The brand topped the Top Value category, which is no small feat when you're up against a name with Bosch's reputation, and also claimed Easiest to Use, its best result of the awards. Beyond those two wins, Fisher & Paykel earned five Highly Commended nods, covering Loved Brand, Reliable, Great Performance, Easy to Clean and Recommended Brand, all sitting just behind Bosch. Like Bosch, that means it also placed across the full set of seven categories, an equally impressive spread.

Haier and Samsung round out the field

Two more brands made their presence felt with multiple Highly Commended results, even without ever taking home a category win. Haier picked up four commendations, for Reliable, Great Performance, Easiest to Use and Easiest to Clean, making it the strongest performer behind the top two brands. Samsung wasn't far behind with three Highly Commended mentions, for Loved Brand, Value and Recommended Brand, rounding out a field of four brands recognised this year.

This result fits into a wider theme running through this year's Customer Satisfaction Awards. Bosch also swept five of seven categories in the stick vacuum awards, and Ninja took out six of seven in air fryers, while the robot vacuum wins were split across three different brands. It all points to the same idea: when it comes to big-ticket appliances like washing machines and vacuums, Australian loyalty currently sits with a small handful of trusted names.

How we rank the best washing machines

Finder's Customer Satisfaction Awards are built on real feedback from Australian consumers, not marketing spin. As part of a broader survey of more than 60,000 Australians about their recent purchases and brand experiences, we asked front-load washing machine owners to rate the brand they use on how much they love it, how reliable it is, how easy it is to use and clean, and how it performs for the price.

Only people who've actually bought and used a brand's machine were able to vote, which rules out the kind of brand-awareness bias that tends to skew simpler popularity polls. Each brand's rating reflects its average across all these measures, with the top scorer in a category named the Winner and the next two named Highly Commended. Brands needed a solid sample of genuine owners to qualify for a category, which is why not every brand sold in Australia shows up in the results.
