The best supermarket brands in the 2023 Finder Retail Awards
We asked more than 30,000 Australians to rate their favourite products – here's who came out on top in the supermarket categories.
The Finder Retail Awards recognises Australia's favourite brands across more than 100 retail categories. We surveyed thousands of real Australians to understand how they feel about their recent product purchases, and used that information to reward the most popular brands.
These are the best brands in the coveted supermarket category for 2023.
Best rated supermarket brand: Coles
Coles received the highest scores for customer service and product quality, making it this year's best supermarket brand winner. It was recommended by 91% of surveyed customers.

Aldi took out the top gong for best Supermarket Bakery. It received the highest score in the value for money category and also rated highly for taste and freshness. 91% of respondents said they would recommend the brand to others without hesitation.

Harris Farm was rated the best overall Supermarket Deli. It achieved the highest score in the taste, product range and freshness categories. 95% of respondents said they would recommend the brand.

Woolworths ham was rated the best overall, beating out IGA, Harris Farm and Coles. It scored highest in the areas of freshness and taste. 90% of respondents said they would recommend the brand.

If you're looking for Australia's best beef, Aldi is the place to shop according to the 2023 Finder Retail Awards. Aldi beef scored particularly highly for taste, product range and freshness. 85% of respondents said they would recommend the brand.

Harris Farm claimed the title of the top-rated supermarket brand for fresh vegetables in the 2023 Finder Retail Awards. It received strong scores for taste, product range, freshness and value for money. 92% of respondents said they would recommend this supermarket brand for its fresh vegetables.

Harris Farm claimed the top spot in the 2023 Finder Retail Awards as the highest-rated supermarket brand for fresh fruit. Customers lauded its freshness, taste and variety. 95% of respondents expressed their strong inclination to recommend this supermarket for its fresh fruit offerings.

Aldi took out the Finder retail award for best seafood brand overall. Customers rated it highly for taste, product range, freshness and value for money. 83% of respondents said they would recommend the brand.

In the 2023 Finder Retail Awards, Woolworths emerged as the top-rated supermarket brand for hot chicken. It received high praise from customers across multiple criteria, including freshness, taste and value for money. 93% of respondents expressed their willingness to recommend this particular brand of chicken.

In the 2023 Finder Retail Awards, Aldi emerged as the leading supermarket brand for pork, securing the top-rated position. It received high scores across various categories, including taste, product range, freshness and value for money. An impressive 94% of respondents expressed their strong recommendation for pork from Aldi.

How we chose the winners
The Finder Retail Awards recognise brand sentiment from customer feedback on different retail product categories. Finder worked with data and insights company Dynata to conduct thousands of customer interviews regarding their product purchasing history and satisfaction with their purchased products.
