No, amaysim's data plans do not allow you to make calls or send texts. However, it has a wide range of cheap regular prepaid plans on offer that will let you make calls.

Do I need my own modem?

Yes, amaysim's NBN plans require you to bring your own modem (BYO). You can check modem compatibility on the amaysim website.

How fast are amaysim NBN plans?

amaysim offers speeds up to 240Mbps which is very fast indeed. (For context, speeds over 100Mbps will be able to handle anything the internet throws its way, including very large downloads without lengthy delays.) However, these speeds are only offered in select locations and will depend on the type of NBN connection you have.

amaysim launched in 2010 and is now one of the largest mobile virtual network operators in Australia. In addition to its popular mobile plans, it provides a range of mobile broadband plans on the Optus 4G Plus network, as well as NBN plans with download speeds of up to 240Mbps.
