The best coffee machine brand in 2026? Real owners just voted.
Coffee machine owners are a loyal bunch and Finder's 2026 Customer Satisfaction Awards put that loyalty to the test. We asked real coffee machine owners across Australia to rate their machine on how much they love it, how reliable it is, how easy it is to use and clean, and whether it's worth the money. Breville and Nespresso came out on top overall, each taking home three of the seven award categories, while Sunbeam claimed the Top Value crown.
Breville swept the board this year, taking out three category wins.
Owners rated it the Most Loved machine, a category that comes down to everyday satisfaction and usually points to who'll buy the same brand again. It was also named Most Reliable, which matters most once the excitement of a new machine has worn off. And it took out Most Recommended, perhaps the hardest one to win, since people are putting their own reputation on the line when they vouch for a brand.
On top of that, Breville picked up four Highly Commended results: Value (behind winner Sunbeam), Easiest to Clean (tied with De'Longhi, behind winner Nespresso), Top Performance (behind winner Nespresso), and Easiest to Use (behind winner Nespresso).
Nespresso also claimed three wins this year.
It topped Easiest to Use, which speaks to its appeal among time-poor drinkers after a low-fuss brew. It also took out Top Performance, the category most directly tied to coffee quality and consistency. And it won Easiest to Clean, an area where pod-based machines tend to have the edge simply by having fewer parts to maintain.
On top of that, Nespresso picked up three Highly Commended results: Most Loved, Most Reliable, and Most Recommended, all behind winner Breville.
Sunbeam took out just one category.
Value for money isn't just about the cheapest price tag. It's whether owners genuinely feel they got their money's worth, a tougher bar to clear when you're up against brands with a premium reputation. Breville and De'Longhi picked up Highly Commended nods here.
De'Longhi didn't come first in any category but was consistently highly commended.
De'Longhi didn't win a single category, but it was the most consistent name on the list, picking up a Highly Commended in every one: Most Loved, Value, Most Reliable, Easiest to Clean (tied with Breville), Easiest to Use, Top Performance, and Most Recommended.
That's a Highly Commended finish in all seven categories, no other brand came close to that spread. It's a different kind of result to Breville's three wins or Sunbeam's single win: De'Longhi never topped the podium, but it was never far off it either, the reliable runner-up across the board.

How we rank the best coffee machines
Finder's Customer Satisfaction Awards are based on real feedback from Australian consumers, not marketing spin. As part of a broader survey of more than 60,000 Australians about their recent purchases and brand experiences, we asked coffee machine owners to rate the brand they use on how much they love it, how reliable it is, how easy it is to use and clean, and how it performs for the price.
Respondents could only vote on brands they've actually purchased and used. Each brand's score out of 5 is the average rating it received across these measures, with the highest-scoring brand in a category named the Winner and the next-highest scorers named Highly Commended.
