The best of Korean food in Sydney.
A while ago Sydney renamed a section of Pitt St (behind Bathurst and Goulburn streets) and a section of (Liverpool St between George and Elizabeth streets) Koreatown. This little patch of the city centre had somehow become a densely populated with Korean restaurants and shops. It also has a Korean Culture Centre making it the centre for Korean food – at least in the city.
This is a cuisine centered around fermentation and BBQ. Kimchi (fermented vegetable) is often offered as complimentary with every meal and hot pots of rice, meat and eggs are common. As are Korean BBQs, which see you ordering raw meats and vegetables and cooking them to your liking on metal plates in front of you.
