  The Finder app is the next-gen in financial comparison, effortlessly managing your money in the palm of your hand. Track your spending, get unique savings insights and see all your accounts in one place. Get your free credit score and monthly credit report and trade cryptocurrency fee-free. We're constantly adding new features to help you save more money and make better financial decisions.

• What makes the Finder app different?

  The Finder app has a bunch of great features that we know you'll love:

  • We're game-changers. We were the first to launch the chance-of-approval feature for personal loans in an app, and we're the first to ever launch this feature for credit cards.

Getting started

• What do I need to get started?

  You'll need a phone and a bank account – it's that simple. Once you connect one of your accounts, we'll be able to give you unique insights and let you know where you can save money. You can also take this one step further and connect your investments, loans, savings and even your credit score. This unlocks even more insights and more capability from the app.

• How do I connect my bank account to Finder?

  1. Head to the "Home" tab, tap "Connected accounts" under the "Net wealth" section, tap "Add" and then find the account you want to connect by using the search box or scrolling through the list and tapping on it.
  2. Pop in your customer ID and your password. This will be the same details you use in your online banking login. If you're connecting a CDR-compatible account, you can also follow the Open Banking instructions. (Remember, we only use these to access your information within the app; this is a secure process and we can't make payments.)
  3. Your account should be connected now. It may take a few minutes to initially sync your data, then you're good to go!

• Does it cost anything to use the Finder app?

  Absolutely not. We're a completely free service and there are no in-app purchases or fees. We even offer fee-free cryptocurrency trading. We're nice like that.

• How does Finder make money?

  At Finder, we're committed to providing you with free, current and accurate information to help you make better decisions. Making that happen involves the work of hundreds of staff members and the use of complex technology. To do that, we rely on the support of our readers and our commercial partners to help us meet the costs of delivering our services to you.

  We make money through a mix of commercial partnerships, content sponsorship and display advertising. If you decide to click on a link on Finder that leads to a third-party website that we have a commercial arrangement with or fill out a form to arrange a call with a partner (like a mortgage broker or health insurer), we may earn referral fees.

  When you connect your transaction bank account, you unlock a bunch of benefits that make the Finder app what it really is. This includes features such as spend analytics, unique savings insights that can help save you even more money, bill tracking, cash position and more.

We comply with Australian privacy regulations and will never share your information with anyone unless you tell us to. We're also an accredited CDR recipient (as Hive Empire Pty Ltd).

Credit score

• Why has my credit score changed?

  Experian, the credit bureau used to generate your Finder credit score, has recently rebuilt its scoring model. As a result, you may notice your Finder credit score has changed.

  What's changed?

  Experian has changed how it weighs certain credit information when working out your credit score. Whilst the data used to calculate your score and your credit report information are unchanged, your numerical score may be different.

  What do I need to do?

  Nothing. Your Finder credit score will update automatically in the Finder app.

  Why has Finder made this change?

  We want to make sure that our members are getting the most accurate and up-to-date credit score information so that they can better understand their financial position and borrowing power.

  My credit score has decreased. What should I do?

  If your credit score has dropped, it may be worth revisiting your borrowing habits to ensure that you're not hurting your credit rating. If you want to rebuild your score, there are also a number of simple ways you can improve your credit score.

• What are the benefits of getting my credit score through the Finder app?

  When you get your credit score through the Finder app, you'll unlock a bunch of extra benefits that are great for you and your financial health. You'll get your credit score automatically updated every month and you'll be notified if there's a change on your report. We'll also give you tips and tricks on how to improve your score.

  Getting your credit score through the Finder app also unlocks one of our coolest features – chance of approval. Our chance-of-approval feature takes your credit score and asks you a few questions to help determine how likely you are to be approved for a credit card or personal loan before you even apply.

• How do I get my credit score on the Finder app?

  Getting your credit score through the Finder app is pretty easy.

  1. Sign in to your account. If you've received your credit score through the Finder web experience then make sure you use the same email to create your account.
  2. Tap on the "Credit score" tab, and click "Get my score".
  3. Follow the prompts on the page. Just a heads up that you'll need a driver's licence to verify your identity.
  4. Voila! You should now have your credit score through the Finder app. If you encounter a problem, shoot a message over to app@finder.com or simply two-finger swipe right to left on the app to leave us feedback.

Finder Wallet

• How do I set up my Finder Wallet?

  You can set up your Finder Wallet directly from the app, just make sure you have your personal ID info handy:

  1. Head to the "Wallet" tab.
  2. Tap "Set up your wallet".
  3. Tap "Continue".
  4. Choose which ID you'd like to use.
  5. Enter the required information.
  6. Confirm the information is correct and agree to the terms and conditions.
  7. Tap "Looks good, verify my identity".

  Your identity should then be confirmed and your Finder Wallet will be ready to go. If your identity fails to be verified you may need to provide another form of ID. If you're still having issues, please reach out to us.

• How do I add funds to my Finder Wallet?

  Once you've verified your identity and set up your wallet, you can then add funds to your account by following these steps:

  1. Head to the "Wallet" tab.
  2. Tap "Cash balance" and then tap "Add cash".
  3. Choose which payment method you'd like to use and submit the payment. You can deposit funds via PayID or bank transfer.
  4. Once you've done so, tap "I've done this".
  5. Once your deposit has been confirmed, your funds should appear under your "Cash balance".

  Deposits made using PayID should appear in your Wallet immediately, but you may have to wait 1 business day for your first deposit to clear. If you deposited funds using bank transfer, you may need to wait up to 3 days for the funds to appear.

  You can only use the funds deposited into your Finder Wallet account to purchase cryptocurrency through the in-app crypto exchange or withdraw it to a bank account in your own name.

• Why was Finder Earn sunset?

  Finder Earn was designed to give our members a competitive return on their cryptocurrency. As interest rates have increased and the macroeconomic environment has changed, it's now possible to get a more attractive return elsewhere. Learn more here.

Crypto trading

• What cryptocurrencies can I trade in the Finder app?

  You can currently buy and sell 13 cryptocurrencies straight from the Finder app, with no trading fees. These are:

  • Bitcoin
  • Ethereum
  • Cardano
  • XRP
  • Binance Coin
  • Solana
  • Dogecoin
  • Shiba Inu
  • Polygon
  • Chainlink
  • Polkadot
  • Stellar
  • Fantom

• Are there any fees?

  No, cryptocurrency trading is completely fee-free in the Finder app. There are also no fees for depositing into your cash balance.

• How do I buy crypto in the Finder app?

  You can buy crypto by navigating to the "Crypto" tab. You will need to deposit funds into your cash balance before you can begin trading. To do so, head to the "Wallet" tab, press "Cash balance", then tap "Add cash" and follow the instructions.

• Can I withdraw my crypto?

  If you want to withdraw your crypto to your personal wallet or address, you can do so by navigating to the relevant coin's screen and tapping "Withdraw". You can also reach out to us via the live chat in the app by heading to the "Settings" tab in your Finder app and tapping "Get support".

• How do I set up recurring trades in the Finder app?

  You can set up fee-free recurring trades for all tradeable coins directly in the app. For detailed instructions, check out our recurring trades guide.

Making the most of the app

• What do the graphs on the Home screen mean?

  The first graph you'll see on your Home is your net wealth. This is the overall value of your cash, savings, investments and other assets (including your Finder Wallet balance), minus the total value of your liabilities and debts (such as loans and credit cards).

  This figure is calculated by aggregating the data from your connected and manual accounts. You'll also be able to see your spending in a graph further below under "Spending this month". This highlights how much money you've spent this month as well as where you're spending it.

• What is spend analytics?

  Spend analytics is a cool feature that will tell you how much you're spending and where exactly your money is going. You'll be able to find it on the Dashboard under "Spending this month".

  Tap through and you'll see how much money you've spent this month so far and where that money has gone. We'll categorise your spending under handy areas, including groceries, restaurants & dining out, clothing, healthcare, travel and even purchases for your pets!

  You'll also be able to see how much you're spending month on month – a handy way of seeing if you're keeping to your budget and savings goals.

• What is chance of approval?

  Chance of approval is our handy tool that will let you know the likelihood of you being approved for a credit card or personal loan – all before you even apply!

  To find out your chance of approval, all you have to do is connect your credit score to the Finder app. We'll then use this and ask you a few additional questions to help determine how likely you are to be approved.

  To access the chance-of-approval feature, head to the home screen of the app and select the credit cards or personal loans box at the top. Here, you'll be guided through a quiz. After you've answered a few questions, you'll be taken to a screen with some products listed on it. Just select the section where it asks you if you want to unlock your chance of approval and voila!

• What categories of products can I compare on Finder?

  We can compare over 100+ different categories on the app. Simply click the product you're after and it will redirect you to our dedicated page on our site.

Security

• Why do I need to provide my bank login information?

  To connect your account, you'll need to log in through an online portal, which will give us read-only access to your data. We use this data to inform your savings insights, spend analytics and your top-level view of your accounts.

  You also have the option of connecting compatible accounts using Open Banking (CDR), which gives you greater control over how your data is used.

• How can I delete my account?

  To delete your account, you'll have to jump onto our website. Log in to your account on our website and then head to Settings and click "Delete".

• Where can I read Finder's terms of use and privacy policy?

  You can view our privacy policy here and terms of use here. You can also access our terms of use and privacy policy via the Finder app. Simply head to the Settings tab and scroll down. They're both right there at the end!

• Why isn't my bank supported?

  You can connect to over 100 different banks using the Finder app, but we know this might not include your bank. We are working hard every day to connect to more and more banks, so bear with us!
