what plan can allow phone to be used as remote wifi
Hi Mal. Do you mean that you want your phone to be used as a remote Wi-Fi hotspot?
This is handled by the settings in your phone (it should work regardless of what phone plan you are using.)
Here are the steps for Android and iPhone.
Android:
1. Go to your phone’s Settings app.
2. Go to Hotspot & Tethering – Select “Network & Internet”, then choose “Hotspot & Tethering”.
3. Enable Wi-Fi Hotspot – Tap slider to the on position.
Most Android phones also provider quick access to the hotspot via the pulldown menu.
iPhone:
1. Go to your iPhone’s Settings app
2. Tap on Personal Hotspot – Navigate to “Cellular”/”Personal Hotspot”.
3. Enable “Allow Others to Join”.
That’s it! You can also rename your hotspot so it’s easy to identify and set up a unique password.
Just bear in mind that any devices you connect to the hotspot will be using your phone’s mobile network, so make sure you have plenty of spare data. Here’s a list of high-data mobile plans if you need it.

Hi Pauline, There are other mobile plans available with more data for around that cost, such as the TPG Small which is $12.50 a month. You can compare plans on our main prepaid guide – a simple prepaid plan including data might be a better match for your needs than a more comprehensive mobile broadband plan. Hope this helps.
