Everyday, Australians are faced with tough buying decisions. Finder's mission is to help the world make better financial decisions. The 2020/21 Finder Customer Satisfaction Awards helps that mission by recognising Australia's best brands as voted by real Australians.
Finder surveyed thousands of Australians who had recently purchased products across 150 categories and rate how satisfied they were with their purchase.
Home Appliance AwardsKmart ranked highest in this category for its overall rating, value for money and ease of cleaning. Kmart has five different air fryer models to choose from based on the size of your family and what you plan on cooking.
Consumers ranked KitchenAid blenders highest for their range of features and functions, beating other well-known brands such as the NutriBullet and Nutri Ninja.
If you hate cleaning and maintenance, then the Russell Hobbs deep fryer is your best bet. It also scored well for value for money.
The name ALDI is almost synonymous with value, and this food processor is no exception. Not only did it score the highest for value for money and ease of cleaning, but it also had the best ranking for performance.
Scoring highly for ease of use and value for money, a Breville juicer is the perfect product to take your food for a spin.
If you're looking for value for money, then Aussies recommend a Morphy Richards kettle. It's also one of the more quiet brands, so you can continue the conversation while you're making tea.
With the launch of Australia's largest microwave in October 2020, LG is making waves in this category. It was voted best for cooking performance as well as ease of use.

Tefal's multicookers are designed to create delicious meals and reduce the amount of time you spend in the kitchen. Scoring well across the board, it's no wonder 94% of Aussies recommend Tefal for this product.
Not only does it have the easiest pressure cookers to use, but Tefal is also great value for money.
Beating out the competition across the board, the Tefal rice cooker is easy to use, has great features and is excellent value for money.
Breville is synonymous with toasted sandwiches, so it's unsurprising it has won this category for the second year in a row. The brand was most recommended overall and also scored well for durability.

Winning the slow cooker category for the second year in a row, ALDI's Ambiano slow cooker rated highest for value for money, and 100% of those surveyed would recommend it.
The KitchenAid stand mixer is one of this year's standouts, beating the competition across the board. Easy to use? Tick. Value for money? Tick. Performance? Tick.
Lavazza topped the list across every metric, making it the standout capsule coffee machine in this year's awards. It's a high performance, easy-to-clean machine with top-rated features. Plus, it's great value for money.
If you love to rise and grind, then you should consider a Maxim coffee grinder. Top rated for performance, ease of cleaning and value for money, it's a great product to make your morning caffeine hit a pleasant experience.

If you prefer a manual coffee machine, then Breville is your go-to. Top rated for performance, ease of cleaning and value for money, it's easy to see why Breville took out the award this year.
With top scores across the board for ease of use, quietness, bread quality and value for money, 5 Star Chef is a great choice for keen bread makers.
Yonanas was the highest rated ice cream maker brand. It received the best score for performance, and competitive ratings for ease of use and ease of cleaing.
If you're looking to make your own ravioli, look no further than Baccarat. Crowned the best pasta maker brand, Baccarat had the highest overall rating and top scores for ease-of-use and variety.
The best toaster brand goes to Smeg. Smeg received the best scores for ease of use, features and functions and performance.
Known for its innovative products, it's no surprise that Dyson is the barrel vacuum cleaner winner. Aussies gave Dyson the top score for cleaning performance and storage.
Topping the list for cooking performance, Bosch is this year's best rated oven brand, beating brands such as Smeg, Westinghouse and Fisher & Paykel. Bosch also scored well for features and functions and cleaning and maintenance.
Samsung robot vacuum cleaners scored well across the board, making this product an excellent all-rounder.
A great dishwasher should be quiet, perform well, have great features and be great value for money, and according to Australians, LG dishwashers are all these things, receiving high scores across the board. LG was also recommended by 100% of the Aussies polled who have one.
Value for money, great features, excellent performance and safety – if you want an electric heater that's all these things, then Dimplex is the brand for you.
Haier had the highest rating for performance, helping it win this year's french door fridge award. It's recommended by 91% of Australians and it also received high scores for its design, features and value for money.
Top rated for safety, Bosch beat out brands like Rinnai and Real Flame to win the Finder Award for the best gas heater brand. It also rated highly for features and functions and performance.
With top scores across the board, including for performance, internal layout, cleaning and maintenance and value for money, Hisense is the clear winner for the best standalone freezer.
As the top-rated brand for features and functions, Westinghouse took out the award for top mount fridges. Recommended by 94% of Aussies polled, it also had high scores for cooling performance and design.
Dyson air purifiers topped the list for quietness, design and value for money. Dyson also rated highly for cleaning and maintence.
Karcher topped the list for carpet and floor cleaning features and functions and ease of use. It also had high scores for cleaning performance and value for money.
With 94% of Aussies recommending Mercator, it's the ceiling fan brand of choice. It had solid scores across the board, including for performance, design and features and functions.
Haier clothes dryers received the best scores for value of money and placed second for quietness, performance and reliability. It also received high scores for drying time.
Asko has taken out this year's award for best front load washing machine, beating out competitors such as Fisher & Paykel, Miel, LG and Samsung. It received high scores across the board, including for washing performance, quietness, features and functions and value for money.
If "safety first" is a motto you live by, then Philips is the brand for you. It topped the list for safety and features as well as performance in this years Finder Awards.
Appliance giant Dyson has the best rated pedestal fans, with excellent scores for features and functions and performance. It also received the best rating for fan portability.
Goldair took out this year's portable air conditioner award, with top scores for cleaning and maintenance and value for money.
With the top rating for ease of use, design and value for money, First Alert has taken out this year's smoke alarm category award.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is the clear winner in the split system air conditioning category, with top scores across the board. Consumers said the brand was the best for quietness, performance, features and functions and value for money.
If you're in the market for a steam mop, then the data suggests you should choose Vax. Aussies gave it the best rating for cleaning performance, features and functions and ease of use.
LG has pipped Dyson at the post to win the best stick vacuum brand. It received the top rating for value for money, battery life and cleaning performance.
LG narrowly defeated Fisher & Paykel for this year's top front load washing machine award. It received high scores across the board and the best score for value for money.
If you're after a washer dryer combination, then Whirlpool is the brand to try. It had top ratings for noise and performance.
Technology AwardsAustralians scored Flashforge 3D printers highly for print speed, quality and ease of use.
Trend Micro antivirus software topped the list for customer support, features and value for money. It also scored well for device compatibility.
Sony beat out Sonos in this year's Finder Awards to take the title for the best bluetooth speakers. With a number of models to suit different price ranges, Sony's bluetooth speakers rated particularly well for battery life and design.
Recommended by 96% of Aussies, HP pipped Apple at the post for the best desktop computer award. While Apple had the highest rating for design and performance, Australians voted for HP as the best value for money and the best overall desktop computer.

Nikon has been voted the best digital camera for image quality, features and functions, ease of use and value for money, making it the overall Finder Award winner.
With a range of drones now on the market both for fun and for commercial use, there are now a number of brands for consumers to choose from. DJI rated best for camera performance, features and functionality, as well as flight control.
Amazon Kindle trumped runner up Kobo in this category for readability, ease of use and battery life. 96% of surveyed users recommend the Kindle.
Beats by Dr. Dre made waves when it first launched, and this year it has taken out the Finder Award for headphones due to its design and sound quality. It also rated highly for comfort and value for money.

Bose is the best-rated home theatre system brand according to Australians. Top rated for ease of installation, it also rated highly for sound quality and connectivity.
There's a reason Apple is one of the most pervasive technology brands in the world. Apple received the highest score for laptop design, performance and battery life.
While Apple didn't top any specific metric for mobile phones, it rated well across the board for design, battery life and camera quality. Perhaps a little more expensive than other phone brands, it didn't rate super well for value for money, but it still took the top spot as the best overall rated phone brand as voted by Australians.
Household name Canon took out this year's best printer award. Against rivals such as Epson, HP and Fuji Xerox, Canon had the best rating for performance and reliability as well as value for money.

The best smart speaker goes to Sonos, thanks to its top rated design and great value for money. 92% of Aussies recommend a Sonos smart speaker.
Yamaha is the top rated brand for soundbars. It beat out competitors such as Sonos, Bose, Sony and Samsung for the best sound quality and for being great value for money.
If you're looking for an easy-to-use TV, then a Samsung model is likely to be a good fit. Topping the list for ease of use and sound quality, it also rated highly for picture quality.

Blackvue is the leading dachcam brand, with Australians giving the brand top scores across the board for video quality, features, battery life and value for money.
Move over Fitbit, there's a new sheriff in town. With the best scores for design and value for money, Amazfit is the best-rated fitness tracker. It also rated highly for features.
A market leader across GPS categories, it's no surprise that Garmin has taken out this year's award for best GPS system. Consumers were quick to recognise Garmin for its accuracy and great value for money.
If you're looking for a great security camera brand, then Arlo is a great choice. It received high scores across the board and was the best rated for value for money.

Given that it dominates the smartwatch category, it's not surprising that Apple has taken out the award for the best smartwatch brand. Scoring top marks for design and high scores for battery life and features and functions, it beat out other brands such as Fitbit, Garmin and Samsung.
Food and Groceries AwardsRecommended by 100% of surveyed Aussie consumers, Friendly Grocer was named the best rated supermarket brand. In a category typically dominated by the major players, this win goes to show that customer satisfaction is not measured by market share. Friendly Grocer was top rated for customer service, produce quality and overall rating.

As a kitchen staple, milk is one product you don't want to get wrong. According to Aussies, Riverina is the fresh milk brand to buy, thanks to its top-rated packaging design.

The best rated nut or plant-based milk brand, Bonsoy took out this category thanks to its high ratings for taste, freshness and packaging design.

Woolworths might be known as the "fresh food people" but its the brand's long life milk that has won gold this year. It had high scores for – you guessed it – freshness as well as value for money, beating out brands such as Coles, ALDI, A2 and Dairy Farmers.

Top rated for taste, quality and ease of preparation, Super Nature has taken out the Finder Award for frozen meals. The brand beat out competitors such as Weight Watchers, McCain, Woolworths and Lean Cuisine.

As a market leader for capsule coffee pods, it's no surprise that Nespresso took out this year's award. Nespresso was the highest-rated brand for taste and quality.
ALDI has done it again and is this year's frozen vegetables winner. Not only did it top the list for value for money, but it also took out the number one spot for quality and taste.

Moccona has a cult following for a reason, taking out this year's Finder Award for the best instant coffee brand. Aussies rated Moccona the best brand for aroma, and it also ranked well for taste, packaging and value for money.

If you love the smell of coffee beans in the morning, then Lavazza is a great choice for you. Australians rated Lavazza highly for coffee bean aroma, helping it take out this year's Finder Award. Lavazza's beans also rated well for taste and texture.

The country has spoken. Tetley has been crowned the best teabag brand, thanks in particular to its great taste and packaging design. It also scored well for value for money and variety.

It ain't easy being cheesy – unless of course you're Bega, which won this year's award for the best cheese brand. The best-rated brand for cheese texture and packaging, it also placed second for taste.

A great meal often starts with a great butter, and Western Star can offer you just that. Top rated for texture and packaging design, it also beat out other brands such as Lurpak and Devondale for taste.

The yoghurt brand that scored the best for consistency, Gippsland also ranked well for taste, variety and value for money.

Whether you're looking to make the perfect morning toast or lunchtime sandwhich, Abbott's Village Bakery is the best-rated bread. Recommended by 94% of Australians, it was rated as having the best texture and taste, as well as high scores for freshness and value for money.

No party is complete without some dip, and next time you're entertaining, you can choose Yumi's knowing that it's Australia's top-rated dip. With the highest score for taste and great ratings for variety of flavours, consistency and texture, Yumi's has something to offer for everyone.

If jam is your jam, Bonne Maman is a must-have. Recieving the top score for variety and high scores for consistency and taste, Bonne Maman jam is recommended by 96% of Aussies.
The ice cream brand with the best multipacks is Connoisseur. It received the best ratings for taste, consistency and variety of flavours. Competiting against brands like Cornetto, Magnum, Drumstick and Weis, this was a highly competitive award category.

If you prefer ice cream out of a tub, then Golden North is your best bet. It was the best rated brand for consistency and variety, and it received high scores for taste and value for money too.

Elevit is the best-rated multivitamin brand for effectiveness and value for money, helping it take out this year's award. It's also recommended by 100% of Australians.

Lindt proved to be the number one pick among chocolate lovers. In addition to receiving the top overall rating, Lindt received excellent scores for taste, packaging design and its range of flavours.
Youfoodz topped the list for variety, helping it take out the overall best meal delivery service against competitors MarleySpoon, HelloFresh and Dietlicious. It also ranked highly for taste and timely delivery – both important when you've got the munchies.
Home, Kitchen and Laundry Awards
Ambi Pur is the top rated brand for air freshener scent and packaging design. It also scored well for effectiveness.

Voted the most effective all purpose spray, Ajax is also the easiest to use and the highest rated overall.

The easiest bleach of the bunch to use, Sard was the best rated overall by Australians.

If you're looking for a carpet or floor cleaner that is easy on the nose, look no further than Pine O Cleen. It also rated highly for effectiveness and ease of use.

Easy to use, durable and high performance, if you're in the market for cloths, scourers or sponges, then Aussies recommend Scotch-Brite.
A cookware legend, Le Creuset is known for its signature cast-iron products. Topping the list for design and cooking performance, as well as for cleaning and maintenance, it's no surprise it was the overall winner.

Scoring best rated odour and scent, Shine's dishwasher detergents and tablets were also top rated for their effectiveness.

If you want a fabric softener that delivers, then Aussies recommend ALDI. Best rated for softness of clothes and value for money, it's the clear winner in this category.
Highly effective and easy to use, Windex took out the glass cleaner award as the best overall rated brand.

As the top-rated ironing board brand for design, durability and ease of use, it's no surprise that Hills took out the Finder Award for the best ironing board brand.

Cold Power had the highest rating for cleaning performance and was also recognised for its packaging design.

The most effective and easiest to use oven and cooktop cleaner of the bunch, Hillmark was also rated as having the best smell.
Sistema took out the Finder Award for the best pantry storage containers. In particular, Aussies love the shape of the Sistema containers along with their material and durability.

Thermos is well known for producing high quality insulated food and beverage containers and its resusable coffee mugs are no exception. Top rated across the board, Thermos's reusable coffee mugs beat out the competition for heat retention, durability, ease of cleaning and value for money.

Momar took out the award for the best solvent and drain cleaning brand, with top scores for effectiveness and smell.

Woolworths Essentials toilet cleaner took out the top spot for every metric. Not only is it effective and easy to use, it's also great value for money and was the best rated for scent.
With Aussies thinking more about toilet paper than ever before, Quilton deserves accolades for taking out this year's Finder Award for the best toilet paper brand. It topped the list for strength and quality as well as softness.
The best-rated brand for cleaning and maintenance, a water filter from Pure Water System was recommended by 98% of Aussies.
Garden, Tools and Home Improvement Awards
If "safety first" is a motto you live by, then you should consider a Bosch cordless drill. It also topped the list for performance.

There's a reason Weber is synonymous with BBQs, with the brand taking out the best electric BBQ award. Weber topped the list for ease of cleaning, cooking performance and safety features.

Victa had high scores across the board for metrics such as build quality, ease of use, value for money and performance.

A market leader, Weber has taken out both the gas BBQ and electric BBQ awards. Weber gas BBQs received top ratings for cooking performance and value for money. They also rated well for ease of cleaning and safety features.

Abode home alarm systems scored highly for performance, features, ease of installation and value for money.
Rheem received the best ratings for the build quality of its hot water systems. It also scored highly for heating speed and temperature consistency.

Move over Dulux, there's a new paint king in town. Haymes Paint took out the Finder Award for best paint brand this year, with the highest rating for quality of finish and great scores for durability, ease of application and value for money.
Atlas by ALDI won the pest control product award thanks to its great value for money, ease of use and effectiveness.
The name Honda should not only conjure up images of a car, but of a great petrol lawn mower too. The brand took out this year's category award due to its great performance and cleaning and maintenance scores.
The most effect weed killer as voted by Aussies is Roundup. It also rated well for ease of use, which helped it take out this year's Finder Award.
A clear winner in the whipper snipper or trimmer category, Stihl received the top scores for safety, performance and ease of use.
Beauty and Personal Care AwardsIt's no surprise that Wahl won this year's Finder Award for the best beard trimmer, given it topped every category. 95% of Aussies recommend Wahl, thanks to its great trimming performance, safety, ease of use and value for money.
Wahl dominated in this year's Finder Awards, taking out both the best electric shaver and best beard trimmer categories. Achieving the highest scores across the board, it's a top brand, thanks to its safety, performance, ease of use and value for money.
A giant in the dental hygiene space, Oral-B has taken out this year's electric toothbrush award. It ranked as the easiest to use and the best value for money.
Bagging two wins this year, Dove was named the best rated shampoo brand by Aussie consumers. Top-rated overall, Dove also received excellent scores across the board for attributes such as scent, effectiveness and value for money. Pair this with Dove conditioner to take your haircare routine to the next level.
If you're looking to change up your shower routine, Dove conditioner might be the way to go. Top rated for effectiveness and recommended by 98% of consumers, it's easy to see why Dove came out on top in this category.

Receiving an impressive 100% recommendation rating from consumers who have tried and loved its products, Cetaphil was named the best face wash brand. Cetaphil received excellent scores across the board and was top rated for effectiveness and packaging design.
If you want a foundation that has it all, then bareMinerals is for you. With top ratings for coverage, shade options, ease of application and value for money, the brand took out this year's foundation award.
Philips beat other well-known brands such as Dyson, Remington and VS Sassoon to take out this year's best hair dryer award. It was the best rated for performance, features and functions and value for money.
A clear winner in this category, Cloud Nine is the hair straightener pick thanks to it's performance, ease of use, features and functions and value for money. Not only did it beat out competitors like Dyson, ghd and VS Sasoon across every metric, but it was also recommended by 100% of users.
Nivea lip balm had the top score for ease of application, texture and value for money. It also ranked well for scent.
Revitive is the overall winner for the best massage device brand. It received the best ratings for performance, features and ease of use.

The best moisturiser brand goes to Sukin, thanks to its great texture, scent and value for money. It also rated highly for ease of application.
A good mascara is a staple of any makeup bag and Max Factor has claimed the title of this year's best rated mascara brand. Beating out a number of big names in this category, Max Factor received a top overall rating as well as a 94% recommendation rating from its customers. The beauty giant also scored well for volume, ease of application and being long-lasting.
Cancer Council has been crowned the best sunscreen brand. Competing against brands like Bondi Sans, Banana Boat and Nivea, Cancer Council received top scores for ease of absorption, texture and consistency, as well as effectiveness.

Not only did Sensodyne get the top rating for sensitivity improvement, it also took out the overall toothpaste award this year.

As a result of the pandemic, Aussies are using more hand sanitiser than ever before. In this incredibly timely category, Dettol came out on top. If you're after a hand sanitiser that is highly effective with a great overall rating, Dettol comes recommended by 98% of Aussie consumers.

Taking out two categories this year, Dettol was also named the best hand soap brand. Keeping on top of hand hygeine has never been more important and Dettol was top rated overall as well as for its effectiveness and scent.
Parenting and Baby Awards
With top scores across the board, it's no surprise that Britax Safe-n-Sound took out the award for best baby car seat this year. It was rated well above the competition for safety features, ease of installion and design and style.

Ergobaby is this year's best baby carrier brand, beating out the competition for comfort and support, durability and value for money.
Australians voted D-Link as the best baby monitor brand, thanks to its great audio and video quality, its battery life and its value for money.

An ALDI brand, it's no wonder Mamia ranked best for value for money. It also received the best nappy score for anti-leak protection and got good scores for comfort and absorbency too.

With top scores for safety features and value for money, Steelcraft has taken out the best baby stroller and pram category. It also rated highly for ease of use and design and style.

The brand may be called Little One's, but it received big scores for scent as well as strength and thickness. If you're looking for a great baby wipe brand, Little One's is recommended by 98% of Aussies.

A great cot can make a big difference, and this year, Australians have voted Boori as the best cot brand. It was top rated for safety, design and ease of assembly, and it was also recommended by 92% of Aussies.

IKEA has trumped other brands such as Kmart, Target and Mother's Choice to win this year's award for best high chair. It topped the list for ease of cleaning, portability and value for money.
Sports, fitness and outdoors AwardsHerschel is a great all-rounder backpack brand with high scores for durability, design, comfort and value for money. It beat out big competitors like Kathmandu and Macpac to be crowned this year's award winner.
Top-rated for performance, Trek is the best bicycle brand according to Australians. It also rated well for reliability and design.
If you need a portable fridge or freezer, then consider Engel, which took out the top scores for performance and ease of use. The brand also rated well for cleaning and maintenance.
NordicTracks's home exercise cardio equipment scored well across the board for quality, features and ease of use. It's also recommended by 93% of Aussies.

With high scores across the board for features, customer support, effectiveness and value for money, Nick Cheadle Fitness has taken out this year's award for the best online fitness program brand.

If you're keen to hit the ground running this year, then pick up a pair of ASICS. Recommended by 100% of Aussies polled, ASICS topped the list for comfort and also received high scores for durability and design.
As the best rated suitcase and luggage brand for ease of use, durability and design, Samsonite took out this year's award.

If you're looking for a tent that's easy to use, durable and well designed, then Caribee is the brand for you. Recommended by 100% of those polled, it took out this year's best tent brand award.

Recommended by 96% of Aussies surveyed, Fitness First was the gym to beat. Boasting personal trainers, classes and more than 70 clubs across Australia, it's easy to see why Fitness First is beloved by its customers.
Homewares AwardsStave off the evening chill with a Kambrook electric blanket. A great all rounder, Kambrook took out the electric blanket category thanks to high ratings for performance and reliability.

Sheridan and linen sheets go together like ham and cheese, so it's no surprise that the brand has taken out this year's Finder Award for linen sheets. Sheridan was best rated for comfort and quality of material.
Sleepmaker beat out brands like Koala and Snooze to be crowned the best brand for matresses. It had the highest rating for comfort as well as great scores for durability and value for money.
If you're looking for the most comfortable and supportive pillow, then choose Dunpillo, which topped both metrics in this year's Finder Awards. It also placed second for quality of material, making it a great all-rounder.
Recommended by 92% of Australians, Janome sewing machines had the best ratings for safety and performance. They also ranked well for ease of use and value for money.
Automotive Awards
Michelin dominated the car tyre category in this year's Finder Awards, with top scores for performance, durability and build quality. It also scored above average for value for money.

Top rated for oil quality, Nulon won the Finder Award for the best engine oil brand this year. It also rated well for peformance, packaging design and value for money.

RACV took out the top spot for customer service, helping it win the overall best roadside assistance brand. It also rated well for benefits and features, as well as timeliness.
How we chose the winnersThe 2020 Finder Retail Awards recognise brand sentiment from customer feedback on different retail product categories. Finder conducted thousands of customer interviews around their product purchasing history and satisfaction with their purchased products.
