Role Overview

We're looking for a Social Video Producer who lives in the feed. You aren't just an editor; you are a storyteller who can turn complex financial news into snackable, entertaining content that stops the scroll.

You will help drive Finder's video strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. Working with our editorial crew, you will build franchises, newsjack breaking stories, and help millions of Australians make better money decisions daily.

This is a 6-month contract role, with a strong opportunity to move into a permanent position.

Main Responsibilities

    Content Strategy & Ideation

  • Own the Franchise: Move beyond one-off hits. Help develop repeatable, recognisable video series that build brand fame.
  • Win the Scroll: Script hooks that grab attention instantly. You design content for the "non-follower" feed to maximise algorithmic reach.
  • Newsjacking: Monitor the news cycle and pop culture daily. When rates change or a meme trends, you ensure Finder is part of the conversation immediately.
  • Production & Direction

  • Social-First Shooting: Shoot authentic, high-energy content (studio or street) that prioritises the native look of Instagram/TikTok Reels over traditional TV polish.
  • Talent Direction: Coach internal experts to be comfortable on camera, "democratising production" to increase the volume of voices representing the brand.
  • Agile Setup: Seamlessly switch between high-spec studio shoots and agile mobile journalism setups depending on the speed required.
  • Post-Production & Asset Maximization

  • Vertical Mastery: Edit specifically for 9:16 consumption, utilising pacing, captions, and visual trends that keep retention high.
  • "Sweat Every Asset": Repurpose hero content into multiple formats (remixes, green screens, text overlays) to maximize ROI.
  • Scalable Workflows: Create and maintain editing templates (Premiere/CapCut) and motion graphic presets to speed up output without sacrificing quality.
  • Performance & Growth

  • Data-Driven Creative: Review performance dashboards weekly. Use retention data to tweak hooks, formats, and topics.
  • The Goal: Align daily output with our team goal of aggressively growing multi-platform social views.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record producing social-first video for a brand, publisher, or agency. You are used to tight deadlines and brand guidelines.
  • Editing: Power user of editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, and in-platform social tools.
  • Audio: Ability to mix background music, dialogue, and SFX for maximum impact.
  • Graphics: Ability to create on-screen graphics, animated charts, and clickable thumbnails (Photoshop/After Effects/Canva).
  • Soft Skills: Can manage multiple stakeholders, prioritise a chaotic calendar, and communicate clearly.
