Finder Energy Switching Service Promotion ("Promotion")

Finder is giving away up to $100 in Finder wallet credit to each customer that switches their retail or business energy plan through the Finder Energy Switching Service. Switch to a combined gas and electricity plan to get $100 Wallet credit, or $50 if you switch either electricity or gas.

This promotion is only open to Australian residents aged 18 and over, and ends on 20 July 2022 at 2:59pm AEST.

The Terms and Conditions for the Promotion follow below.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The Promoter is Hive Empire Pty Ltd (ABN: 18 118 785 121) ("Finder") of Level 10, 99 York Street, Sydney NSW 2000. Finder offers customers the ability to compare and directly switch to a range of electricity and/or gas plans ("Energy Plans") through its website ("Energy Switching Service").
  2. The Finder Wallet credit available under this Promotion is provided by Finder Wallet Pty Ltd, a member of the Finder Group. The Finder Wallet credit is governed by the Finder App terms and conditions and privacy policy. The Promoter's privacy policy also applies to this promotion.
  3. If you decide to directly switch to another energy plan using Finder's Energy Switching Service, please refer to the Energy Plan provider's terms and conditions and privacy policy as well as the Energy Plan's fact sheet(s) before making a decision. These Terms and Conditions are separate to and do not form part of the terms and conditions of the Energy Plan providers and their Energy Plans. For clarity, Finder is not responsible for and does not supply the energy or any services under the Energy Plans. You must contact the Energy Plan provider directly for more information.
  4. Information on how to participate in the Promotion form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  5. The Promotion is only available to Australian residents aged 18 years or over. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and agencies associated with this Promotion are ineligible to participate.
  6. To be eligible to participate in the Promotion, you will need the following:
    • Directly switch to and maintain an Energy Plan available through the Finder Energy Switching Service. Currently available in NSW, ACT, SA, VIC, parts of QLD, TAS & WA (only Gas). Not available in Ergon Area (QLD), NT and embedded networks or non-quotable meters,
    • Download the Finder mobile application ("Finder App") and create a Finder App account if you do not already have a Finder App account, and
    • Complete all user registration and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification requirements for Finder Wallet in the Finder App.
  7. Provided that you have maintained the Energy Plan with the energy provider, Finder will provide you with a promotional code that you can use to claim the following Finder Wallet credit in the Finder App:
    • if you switch your electricity or gas plan, then you will receive a $50 Finder Wallet credit, or
    • if you switch your combined electricity and gas plan, then you will receive a $100 Finder Wallet credit.
  8. Finder will provide you with a unique promotional code within approximately 50 calendar days after the date on which you have accepted the terms and conditions of the energy provider's Energy Plan ("Acceptance Date") to claim the Finder Wallet credit in the Finder App. You will only be able to claim one promotional code for an Energy Plan switch per Finder Wallet account.
  9. The Promoter reserves the right to close the Promotion without warning.
  10. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify your eligibility and to disqualify you from participating in the Promotion if you are deemed to be ineligible in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Errors and omissions will be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  11. You must claim the Finder Wallet credit within the Finder App within 30 days of receiving the code. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the promotional code if the Finder Wallet credit remains unclaimed or forfeits through ineligibility or otherwise.
  12. If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion, as appropriate.
  13. Any cost associated with participating in the Promotion is your sole responsibility.
  14. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter's control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any claim of the promotional code that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by you; or (f) use of the Finder Wallet credit.
  15. The laws of the state of New South Wales govern the Promotion.
  16. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, and suppliers. Participation in this Promotion is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning you. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
  17. You acknowledge that:
    • Finder does not compare all providers in the market and not all plans made available from providers are compared in the Energy Switching Service,
    • Comparison made in the Energy Switching Service are limited to providers and plans that can be directly switching to using Finder's Energy Switching Service,
    • The availability of Energy Plans may change from time to time,
    • If the convenience of directly switching is not important to you, please visit Finder's main energy comparison engineer, which may contain different plans, rates and providers, and
    • Finder may receive a referral fee or commission if you proceed to switch to another plan through the Energy switching service.
