Im wondering which is best service an fees to transfer money from the USA to Australia this is a very large sum of money. Best time frame an fee
Hi Ivan,
We can’t state which specific service is the absolute best for your specific needs. However there are some services like OFX and TorFX that waive transfer fees above a certain amount (they make money on the exchange rate instead).
This will probably work out cheaper than a money transfer via your bank, although it could be worth asking your bank about the fees and exchange rates (you can compare them to a money transfer service like the ones I mentioned).
Which are your top picks for having foreign currency sent to Australia? My wife has a significant sum of Thai Baht in a Thai bank account. Which are the best companies to use to send it to Australia?
Hi Geoff,
There are a number of top picks listed to send money overseas, but to receive money, you may want to consider Wise to receive Thai baht (THB). Wise offers local account details for receiving payments in Thai baht, among other currencies, allowing you to receive money from others through a local bank transfer. They also transfer foreign currency as a mid-market rate, which is often cheaper than other currency exchange services. Hope this helps!
