Hi, Kylie. Thanks for your question. You do not have to be a Bankwest customer to apply for this product. The advertised balance transfer promotional rate applies to new customers transferring a balance from a non-Bankwest credit card. I hope this helps.

Hi, Josh. Thanks for your question. Citibank and Virgin are two providers that allow you to transfer the balance from a personal loan to a credit card under the balance transfer promotional rate of interest. You can compare Citibank credit cards here and you can compare Virgin credit cards on this page. I hope this helps.

Hi, Peter. Thanks for your question. The insurance policy booklet states that you must have 'purchased with your participating card account a minimum of $250 (inclusive of taxes and other charges) of your pre-booked transport costs (airfares and/or cruise) and/or land content (tours, hire cars or other hired transport and accommodation) prior to the commencement of your trip. The payment must be debited to your participating card account prior to your departure from Australia.' I hope this helps.

Hi, Samantha. Thanks for your question. Everybody who applies for a credit card must undergo a credit check as part of the application process. It's also a requirement that the applicant has a good credit rating. Have a look at our page on your credit file for information about ordering a copy of your credit report. Having said this, people on Centrelink benefits can still apply for a credit card, the important thing is that the applicant meets the minimum eligibility requirements, you can find these criteria set out at the bottom of our review and application pages. I hope this helps.

Hi, Catherine. Thanks for your question. You can find out more information about the complimentary cover on this page. I had a look at the Zurich website (they provide the insurance policy to Westpac and are the people to contact in the event that you need to make a claim), and the offered this in regards to the policy number: "The covers provided to eligible cardholders of Westpac are made available under a Master Policy issued by Zurich to Westpac Banking Corporation. The policy numbers are therefore the same for all Westpac credit card customers who hold a particular type of eligible card, as follows: Black Cards: 78 WPACERT CCI" I hope this helps.

Hi, Era. There are a number of consequences that may arise from declaring bankruptcy. There are a number of free services you can make use of to find information about what can be repossessed and what assets are safe in the event of bankruptcy. I've sent a link to your email about how to get in touch with a consumer credit legal service for your state. Thanks for your question.

Hi, Nathan. If there is a default listing on your credit file, then this will need to be addressed before you can apply for credit in the future. You can find out more about viewing a copy of your credit file here. If you have no problems with your credit file, but you're worried that you've applied for too many financial products in a short space of time, the lender can now see more information about your credit history than what they used to - including whether or not you accepted the offer. You can find out more about the changes to credit reporting here. Thanks for your question.

Hi, Jacqueline. Thanks for your question. This is a question best directed towards your accountant. It may be the case the entries listed as deposits are treated differently to other entries on your books.

Hi, Mark. According to Woolworths, 'To instruct us to make a BPAY® payment, users must give us the following information: (a) the account number; (b) the amount to be paid; (c) the biller’s code number (found on the bill); and (d) the customer reference number (e.g. the account number with the biller). We will then debit your account with the amount of that BPAY® payment.' You can also look up the BPAY biller code through the BPAY website. Thanks for your question.

Commented on How to cancel your Australian credit card

Hi, Tamara. You can check your eligibility for a product by having a look at the application requirements table at the bottom of each card's review page. It will list a minimum income requirement and other criteria you have to meet in order to apply for a card. The fact that you're a single mother shouldn't matter. Thanks for your question.
