Looking for The Simpsons? The Office? Game of Thrones? Breaking Bad? Whatever series captured your interest, odds are it's available on 1 of the many on-demand streaming services available here in Australia.
With so many different services to consider it can be tough to track down which one has snapped up the rights to your new-found obsession (or created it from scratch).
We've compared the TV show totals of some of the biggest streaming services in Australia: Netflix, Prime Video, Foxtel Now, BINGE, Disney Plus, Paramount Plus and Stan. All up there's 11,323 TV series listed across the 7 services.
In what may be a surprise to some Netflix does not have the most series. With the ever growing streaming market Netflix no longer has all of the third party content it used to. The Rings of Power, Better Call Saul and House of the Dragon are 3 of the biggest shows on streaming right now and aren't available on Netflix Australia.
According to Finder's TV databases as of 5 September 2022, surprisingly Foxtel has the most TV shows available with a whopping 3,698 series. That beats out Netflix and Prime Video who round out the podium with over 2,100 each. Though it is worth noting those Foxtel numbers are slightly inflated as technically sports matches are TV shows on the platform which boosts its figures.

what streaming service can i get MTV music 70s,80,90s
Hi Mark,
You can stream various MTV channels via Foxtel Now. Keep in mind they may not always play music from the 70s, 80s or 90s, so you’d have to check to make sure how frequently they play it as to whether it’s worth the subscription. Luckily Foxtel Now comes with a 10-day free trial for new customers so you can test it all out. You can read more about Foxtel Now in our guide: https://www.finder.com.au/internet-tv/foxtel-now
Hope this helps.
Trying to find out if the TV show Humans is available on any streaming service. Season 1 and 2 are not on ABC iView now.
Hi Nicky,
Thank you for reaching out.
You are correct, the TV show Humans is no longer available on ABC iView. It is available on Amazon Prime for a fee. Season 1 and 2 available at $19.99 for HD and $14.99 for SD per season. However, if you are a Prime member, you can watch it for $0.
The good news is they offer a 30 day trial period that you may want to take advantage of. You can press the ‘Get deal’ button to start your Prime Video free trial.
Hope this helps! 😊
Kind Regards,
Mai
I have been watching a series called The Family (2016) about Adam Warren who has returned from being kidnapped. I have now forgotten which channel and I cannot find it anywhere. Please help.
Hi Fiona,
Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.
I tried searching for the TV series “The Family (2016)”, however, I was not able to find where you may watch it in Australia even on our list of TV shows from the biggest streaming services. It is streaming with ABC Go which is currently available in the US only.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
Jeni

Crownies is no longer available on Stan. Disappointing as this was the sole reason I signed up.

Thanks for reaching out to us.
Sorry to hear about that. Crownies is still on our list for TV shows in Stan. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’ll also have a look and check if it has been completely removed from Stan to make necessary updates on our page.
