This is not a drill. David Jones appears to have Afterpay available as a payment option on its site.

Today Afterpay devotees received some of the best news in a long time: it appears that Australian department store David Jones has joined the Afterpay party and will now be offering the buy-now-pay-later payment method on its online store.

A member of the finder staff noticed this new development when looking through the David Jones online store. A listing on a Ted Baker bag revealed the Afterpay logo as a payment method above the "add to bag" icon. Yay for us!

David Jones even has a homepage dedicated to Afterpay - view it here. The page notes that Afterpay is available on purchases between $100 and $1200 AU.

Afterpay or David Jones have yet to make an official announcement about this partnership, so we believe that this is a testing or trial phase. THE ICONIC went through a similar process with Afterpay after it was installed and tested for a number of weeks before officially going live. During the testing phase only about one in eight users was able to access Afterpay on THE ICONIC.

However, there is no word on whether this is the case with Afterpay and David Jones. If you can't see Afterpay available on David Jones you can try shopping on a different computer or device. These tests rely on the cookies on your browsers and using a different device or computer will have a different set of cookies.

Stay tuned for more details. And if you want to see the list of every store with Afterpay, you can check it out on finder here.
