El Clasíco is one of the biggest matches in the world of football and draws enormous interest any time these great Spanish rivals lock horns.

Barcelona and Real Madrid made underwhelming starts to the 2020/21 La Liga campaign. But both have gradually turned their form around to sit second and third respectively, nipping at the heels of leaders Atletico Madrd. So there is plenty on the line on top of the three points and bragging rights.

When is El Clasíco?

The second instalment of El Clasíco for the season kicks off at 5am AEST at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in Madrid on Sunday 11 April. Real took out the first match in this campaign 3-1 at the Camp Nou back in Octobier.

Who will win El Clasíco?

After Lionel Messi's dramatic off-season, when he seemed destined to leave before opting to stay for likely one more year, Barca have slowly turned their form around. They currently have 65 points from 20 wins, 5 draws and 4 defeats. They have closed the gap on Atletico to just a solitary point.

Real Madrid, who lost Gareth Bale to Tottenham during the transfer period, also had a poor start. Yet they too have struck form, sitting on 63 points for the season. So this is a massive clash for the title hopes of both giants. We'll lean towards Real just shading this one at home and doing the double for 2020/21.
