How to watch Scottish Premiership football live in Australia
Celtic are eyeing Scottish Premiership history and Rangers aim to stop them in the new 2020/21 season. This is how to watch Scotland's top flight league.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Celtic were declared Scottish Premiership champions back in May with 8 games left and a 13-point lead. It was their ninth consecutive league title. Now a condensed schedule has been arranged to ensure the 2020/21 campaign can be completed, when Neil Lennon's Celtic side can create Scottish football history.
Both Celtic (1966–74, 2012–20) and Rangers (1989–97) have previously won 9 consecutive league crowns. But no one has won 10 straight. The mid-season break has been scrapped and fans are not yet cleared to return to stadiums as the season gets underway.
How to live stream Scottish Premiership matches in Australia
The rights to the SPL in Australia are held by beIN SPORTS. That means you have a range of options for catching some exciting Scottish football action.
Stream SPFL matches on beIN SPORTS
Fans of the Scottish game can tune in directly through beIN SPORTS CONNECT. It has a two-week free trial and gives access to all three channels and some bonus features. After the trial, subscriptions cost $19.99/month or $179.99 for a year.
Watch Scottish Premiership on Kayo Sports
You can also access beIN directly through Kayo Sports. Football is one of more than 50 sports you can access through Kayo, which also has a 14-day free trial. After that subscriptions are $25/month for the basic option and $35/month for premium.
Watch SPL on Foxtel
For a more traditional option, you can watch SPL on beIN SPORTS through Foxtel iQ. It is more expensive than the above options, as you need the Sports HD pack ($25/month) plus the base pack ($49/month), so you are looking at a minimum of $74/month. You can also stream matches using the Foxtel Go app, which is free for Foxtel customers.
Stream Scottish Premier League on Foxtel Now
beIN SPORTS is also available with Foxtel Now, a streaming platform where you can watch Foxtel content live and on demand via the Internet. You will need the Sport pack ($29/month) plus the Essentials pack ($25/month), so it's cheaper than Foxtel iQ but still much more than beIN SPORTS CONNECT or Kayo. New subscribers can access a 10-day free trial. Foxtel Now is compatible with PCs, Macs, smartphones, tablets, Chromecast, AirPlay, the Foxtel Now box, Sony Android TVs, PS4 and Telstra TV.
Stream Scottish Premier League on Fetch TV
Fetch TV offers a combination of sport, entertainment and lifestyle channels on a streaming platform. Fetch starts from $6/month but the total price of a subscription depends on whether you get your Fetch box through a broadband provider or buy it outright. beIN SPORTS is an additional channel as part of a special interest channel pack priced at $19.99 per month.
