Similar to the Australian standard version, the P2 mask, KN95 masks are performance-tested, particulate-filtering masks used to filter out around 95% of airborne particulates and are often used to help stop the spread of disease.
The World Health Organisation has recently changed its advice on whether or not people should wear masks. The advice now is that masks should be worn in public where social distancing is not possible to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

You can get similar levels of protection from a KN95 mask as you would from a P2 mask. As noted in the table below, they offer similar features. If you're unable to find a P2 mask, a KN95 could be an ideal substitute.
KN95 masks aren't designed to be used multiple times. When it comes to disposable masks, the World Health Organization recommends masks be replaced with a new one if it gets damp.
If you do fall into those categories, the Australian Department of Health recommends you wear a mask if you need to leave home and go to a public area (for example, grocery shopping), if you need to visit a medical facility or if you're symptomatic and there are other people in a room with you.
If you are not sick, it is advised that you follow the recommended social distancing practices, self-isolate as much as possible and wash your hands frequently.

Products marked as 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
