Sydney FC have plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the 2019/20 edition of the A-League. After finishing second in the regular season and winning the grand final against all odds during the previous edition of the competition, the squad had a successful recruitment campaign. True, Alex Brosque's retirement is a bit of a hit, but an infusion of fresh talent should be sufficient to make up for the loss.
The Sky Blues have a strong team for the new A-League season, with coach Steve Corica pointing out that they'll likely have a target on their backs as they defend their title. Even so, he's confident in the squad's chances of winning more silverware.

Sydney Football Club was established in 2004 and joined the A-League in its inaugural season. As the years went by, the team went on to win four A-League Championships, three Premierships and one FFA Cup.
Sydney FC appointed club legend Steve Corica as head coach ahead of the previous season of the A-League. He soon became one of only two rookie head coaches to seal the title in their first season at the helm of an A-League club, after Sydney FC defeated Perth Glory in the grand final on penalties.
The club's home ground is Allianz Stadium. However, with the stadium currently being rebuilt, Sydney FC moved on to play at Leichhardt Oval and Jubilee Oval until the renovations are complete. The team is one of the most heavily supported in the A-League, with the largest supporter group known as The Cove.
