The Carabao Cup is back for another season and yet again in 2021/22 it revolved around one enduring question – could anyone wrest the trophy from Manchester City?
The answer finally is yes. City had a stranglehold on the tournament in recent years, claiming 5 of the past 6 competitions and 4 straight overall. It drew them level with Liverpool for the all-time record on 8 titles.
But that incredible run was finally snapped by West Ham in the round of 16. Who prevails this year and, more importantly, how can you tune in?
How to watch Carabao Cup matches in Australia

Live stream the Carabao Cup with Kayo Sports
Kayo Sports carries all three beIN SPORTS channels as part of its enormous catalogue. That means you can catch all the Carabao Cup action live and in HD. Kayo will have all of the finals matches of the Carabao Cup available live or on-demand.
After Kayo's free trial, a subscription to the basic package is $25/month and is perfect for those who only need access to two screens. For those who need that extra screen to stream the premium package is $35/month. It could come in handy too as beIN is carrying games across all three of its channels at the same time on Thursday 24 September.
Kayo also offers a range of special features you won't find anywhere else, like SplitView, which allows you to watch four sports at once. Taking advantage of Kayo's free trial, you could try out the Carabao Cup, plus all of Kayo's 50 other sports including the new NBA season for no cost.

All users are required to have a subscription to the base Plus package at $49/month, the Sport HD package on top of this is another $25/month, which means you'll be paying $74/month.

Carabao Cup competition format
The 2021/22 Carabao Cup is the 62nd season of what is traditionally known as the EFL Cup or the League Cup. Round 3 is when the Premier League clubs enter the competition. It is also when the Carabao Cup traditionally starts to dish up some surprise results.
All clubs from the EFL and EPL feature in the competition. The competition has returned to its usual format. Sides compete in a straight knockout format up until the semi-finals, which use the home-and-away format.
The final is set to be played at London's Wembley Stadium on 27 February 2022, where the winner qualifies for the following season's Europa League.
