Although you can fly from Australia to Zagreb in the far north of Croatia and Zadar at the top of the west coast, most holidaymakers make a beeline to Split or Dubrovnik for the beaches and island-hopping opportunities.

Croatia flights FAQs

  • Who flies to Croatia? Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, and Emirates all work together to operate flights from Australia to Croatia. Flights to Split or Dubrovnik depart from across Australia and usually include two or three airport changes. It’s not an easy trip – most itineraries last up to 30 hours.
  • What are the closest airports to Split and Dubrovnik, Croatia? Flights to Split land in Split Airport which is 20km from the town. Dubrovnik's airport is Čilipi Airport and it’s a 30-minute bus ride to the Old Town.
  • What airport transfer options are available? Taxis are available from Split Airport, but if you want to ensure your pick up, the best option is to pre-book an airport shuttle service through a company like Viator. Ubers are also available at Split and Dubrovnik airports and it’s possible to hire a car from companies like Avis and Europcar. This is a good choice if you are driving up or down the coast or into neighbouring countries.
