Where to buy Xbox Series X online

In 2020, Microsoft released a next-generation video games console dubbed the Xbox Series X. With more power beneath the hood than a high-end gaming PC, the Xbox Series X is Microsoft's answer to the Sony PlayStation 5.

Its graphical performance is roughly 4 times better than the Xbox One X, which was the most powerful console of the previous generation. It supports 8K gaming at 120FPS and consigns loading times to the dustbin of history. You can read Finder's in-depth review of the Xbox Series X here.

How much does the Xbox Series X cost?

In Australia, the Xbox Series X will set you back $749, which is roughly in line with our pricing predictions. Microsoft also recently confirmed the lower-cost Xbox Series S will sell for $499.

Xbox Series X games are tipped to be slightly more expensive – expect to pay around $10 more than full-priced current-generation titles. However, some retailers are already selling below the RRP (see above). You can find a full list of every confirmed Xbox Series X game here.

Which version should you buy?

As mentioned above, Microsoft has 2 new Xbox consoles available: The Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S. The Xbox Series S is a stripped-down version that uses less powerful components but can still play all new Xbox games. (It therefore fulfils a similar role to last generation's Xbox One S in relation to the Xbox One X.)

If you want the most powerful games console that money can buy, the Xbox Series X is the version to get. If you're buying for kids or trying to save money, the Series S is arguably a better option. You can read everything we know about the Xbox Series S here.
