Cameroon are the reigning champions, tasked with battling it out with Nigeria in the round of 16. Egypt and Senegal are also among the favourites to take home the title, especially with the former led by Liverpool star Mohammad Salah. They'll be facing South Africa and Uganda, respectively, in the round of 16, so fans should gear up for some riveting clashes as the Africa Cup of Nations final approaches.

When do the Africa Cup of Nations finals start?
The AFCON 2019 round of 16 starts on 6 July (AEST). Two matches will be scheduled daily over the course of four days. Next, the quarter-finals will take place on over 11 and 12 July, then the semi-finals on 15 July. Fans can tune in for the third place play-off on 18 July. It all comes down to the Africa Cup of Nations final, which is scheduled for 20 July at 4:45am AEST at Cairo International Stadium.
