Since launching in Australia in 2019, the movie and TV line-up of Disney Plus is quite robust and now features 949 TV shows and 2,055 movies. But things don't stop there, as Disney Plus has a packed release schedule, with TV and movies for the streaming service planned well into 2023.
Our Disney Plus release schedule includes upcoming titles for 2023 and beyond. Some shows and movies coming soon have confirmed release dates. Others are in the Disney Plus release schedule as they have been announced in some way, with the expectation they will be coming soon.
So far Disney has had big plans for its original content. During San Diego Comic-Con in 2022 they announced another 15 Marvel series to continue the MCU that will release through to 2024.
These include an Echo series featuring the character that debuted in Hawkeye, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, who we first saw in WandaVision and Daredevil: Born Again in 2024 which is a reboot of the Netflix Daredevil series. The release dates for these are a bit up in the air though with delays likely due to the ongoing writers and actor strikes.
Another big draw for Disney Plus is Star Wars content. By our count, there are still 6 upcoming Star Wars series or movies coming to Disney Plus even after the release of Ahsoka.
There are also specific plans for Australia moving forward with Disney Plus announcing 9 Australian originals releasing by the end of 2023. The Artful Dodger is the next one on the way coming out 29 November 2023.
