The 2024 Black Friday sale is giving the 2023 sale a run for its money.
Most booking sites are offering 20–30% off accommodation this year.
However, you can score discounts of up to 75% off with Wotif and Groupon. This is on very select accommodation.

Which companies often offer Black Friday hotel deals?
All of the big booking sites including Expedia, Wotif and Lastminute.com.au as well as hotel chains such as Hilton, Accor and Oaks are known to host Black Friday sales.
You can grab discounts from 20–70% with these sites – sometimes even more.
While a little unconventional, keep an eye on experience companies to score deals on mutli-day activities and experiences that include accommodation.
For example, this year Groupon has up to 75% off and RedBalloon has 10% off sitewide.
We find homeshare sites like Airbnb and Stayz tend not to offer discounts over the Cyber Weekend. If they do, it's usually on booking fees.
How do I find the best Black Friday hotel deals?
Be flexible. It's no surprise that school holidays, Christmas and New Year dates incur a higher price tag for accommodation. If you're able to travel during the off-season (this varies by destination), you're likely to save. Be open to accommodation outside of the city centre and tourist hotspots.
Download hotel booking apps. Certain sites, such as Expedia offer different Black Friday deals on their apps and websites. Downloading their apps might give you access to exclusive deals. In 2023, you'll get double the points by booking through Expedia's app.
Free cancellation. Many hotel booking sites offer free cancellation on hotels up to 48 hours before check-in. If you're unsure about a deal that you find, but you don't want to miss out, double-check that there is free cancellation to avoid any unnecessary cancellation fees.
Sign up for loyalty programs. You can sign up for hotel loyalty programs directly through the accommodation's website or through third-party providers. This way you'll be the first to find out about exclusive deals and offers and you can earn rewards. For example, IHG has its IHG One Rewards program that gives you access to exclusive member rates and offers.
Sign up for alerts. Sign up to receive emails when accommodation prices start to drop. This will help you filter through which providers are offering the best deals and where you can find them before they sell out.
