Samsung's wasting little time in bringing its updated productivity phone to market.

It was previously rumoured, but now Samsung has confirmed that it will launch the Galaxy Note 9 on 9 August 2018 in New York City. International timelines being what they are, that will actually be 10 August 2018 here in Australia, at the rather early time of 1am Friday 10 August to be precise.

Samsung's teaser doesn't reveal a whole lot about the new phone beyond the rather obvious fact that it will have a stylus – it is a Note phone, after all, and we should probably call it an S-Pen if it's a Samsung stylus – and that it might come in a yellow shade. Although that could be post-production on a gold model instead. Yellow phones haven't been a major style point in recent years, but maybe Samsung can make it happen through sheer market presence.

We've already collected everything else we know about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 here, and we'll cover the event and news of the Galaxy Note 9 on 10 August as it happens.
