How to watch State of Origin 2018

The next best thing to actually being there is catching the games live on TV or online. In Australia, the live broadcast of the State of Origin is exclusive to free-to-air TV, so you can watch the games live on Nine Network.

However, the good news is that you will also be able to live stream the games via 9Now, the network’s catch-up service. It’s free – all you need to do is sign up for an account and you’re good to go. You can watch on your computer or download the app on your mobile device.

Not only that, but 9Now is upping its game for the State of Origin. Fans will be able to stream four additional channels during the series, including Spidercam, QLD player cam, NSW player cam and try-line cam. If you miss one of the games, you will be able to watch on demand anytime. Plus, starting 28 May, 9Now will feature highlights of the greatest Origin moments from the past.

If you’re outside Australia, you can stream the games via Watch NRL. An Early Bird State of Origin Pass is AUD$50.

But will the State of Origin game in Melbourne, be broadcast ‘live’ and ‘Free to Air’ anywhere other than in NSW and QLD?
Typically, Victoria doesn’t get any live NRL by channel Nine.
Like previous years, there is no point moving game 1 to the MCG and then not broadcasting live to that state.

Would the channel 9 cameras on 9 now include commentators? And would you be able to watch a full match replay from the 4 camera angles on 9now?
