Jetstar vs Scoot
Which budget airline gets you the most bang for your buck?

Jetstar and Scoot are both 3-star low-cost carriers that offer limited luxuries so they can give you the best price possible. That's what they have in common.
Where they defer is in their flight destinations, baggage allowances, in-flight Wi-Fi and ability to price-match.
While you may prefer some features over others, if you're flying internationally Scoot is the better option as it offers a more far reaching network, more generous baggage allowance, entertainment and Wi-Fi. Scoot also has a silent zone on select flights.
Where Jetstar wins is in its cheap domestic offerings - which are non-existent with Scoot. It's also preferable if you're a Qantas Frequent Flyer member as Starter Plus, Starter Max or Business Max fares earn you points and status credits. Jetstar also offers a price-match guarantee which can secure you the cheapest fare.

Although Scoot ranks very low for in-flight entertainment (1-star) it makes up for it with a 4-star rating for value for money. Jetstar ranks with 2-3-star ratings in all categories.
Any other differences worth noting?
Scoot has a ScootinSilence quiet zone at the front of all of its 787 Dreamliners. This zone doesn't allow children under 12 and has stretch seats and adjustable headrests.
A downside on Scoot is that no outside food and beverages are allowed to be consumed on board, so you are limited to what is available from its in-flight menu.
What are the deals like?
Both airlines offer regular deals which aim to compete with each other. Some of Scoot's biggest flight sales can take you to Singapore from $198 return or Greece for under $600 return. Some of Jetstar's bigger flight sales include fly one way, return for free and domestic flights for under $30.
The verdict? Jetstar's selection is wider on domestic flights however Scoot often beats Jetstar on price for international fares outside of flight sales.
