Gears of War 5 ring

Gears 5 has launched on Xbox One, giving you the chance to participate in Microsoft's limited edition Gears of War jewellery giveaway.

Fans of the Gears of War franchise are in for a big week thanks to the launch of Gears 5 on Xbox One. This is the sixth instalment of the beloved video game series, and it turns the dial on the classic third-person, cover-based shooting game up to 11.

Developed once again by The Coalition – which took over the series from Epic Games – you can expect five different game modes, including the deepest campaign yet. While the game focuses on a new character, Kait Diaz, fans will also welcome back the ugly faces of JD Fenix, Delmont Walker and the legendary Marcus Fenix.

Here in Australia, gamers are in for a particularly special treat. In celebration of the launch of Gears 5, Xbox Australia has partnered with local jewellery designer Jason Moss to release an exclusive range of unisex jewellery inspired by the new game.

Moss has designed a limited edition ring and pendant influenced by the Locust necklace worn by lead character Kait Diaz. The pieces have been crafted by fire and cast in ice-cold silver, evoking the fire and ice locales that players battle through in the game.

The pendant pays homage to the game's iconic COG and the challenges faced by heroes throughout the games, while the ring encompasses unanswered questions surrounding Kait's past.

There are only 100 each of the ring and the pendant, and fans can visit the Xbox ANZ Facebook page for more information on how to get your hands on one.

Don't let that be your only Gears adventure for the day, either. You can grab a copy of Gears 5 online from Microsoft. And if you're in need of a console as well, check out the Xbox One X (1TB) Gears 5 limited edition bundle.
