Inclusions of WorldCare Budget Travel Insurance

WorldCare Budget Travel Insurance works hard to save you money on what can easily be yet another crippling travel expense, yet doesn’t scrimp on the features, protecting you with:

  • Single, couple or family cover. You can choose the plan structure that suits you and your travelling companions, whether you are heading out alone, with your partner or family.
  • Overseas emergency medical assistance. You are covered for unlimited costs if you need emergency medical assistance while travelling overseas.
  • Overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses. You are also covered for unlimited emergency medical and hospital expenses while overseas. The exception is dental expenses, which are limited to $500 per person.
  • Personal liability cover. If you encounter legal trouble while travelling, your WorldCare Budget Travel Insurance policy will be right behind you with up to $5 million cover for personal liability.
  • Cancellation and lost deposits. Pays you a benefit to cover cancellation fees and lost deposits for travel arrangements and accommodation which have been paid in advance and must be cancelled or rescheduled because of circumstances outside of your control. You can claim cancellation fees of up to $1,500 on a single policy, $1,500 per person on a couples policy and up to $3,000 on a family policy. This will also include WorldCare Insurance paying for the loss of any frequent flyer or other reward points lost following a ticket cancellation.
  • Additional expenses. Provides cover for reasonable additional accommodation and travel expenses which you incur because are unable to travel due to illness or injury, requiring immediate medical attention. Your medical adviser must certify that you are unfit to travel. This feature also includes cover if a travelling companion or relative suffers a serious or life threatening condition. For single cover you can claim up to $3,000, with duo cover you can claim $3,000 of expenses per person and with family cover you can claim up to $6,000.
  • Hospital cash allowance. Pays you a benefit of $50 per day for each day you are in hospital after a consecutive 48-hour waiting period.
  • Accidental death benefit. If you are injured on your journey and you die as a result of the injury within 12 months, a death benefit will be paid to your beneficiaries. Your family can also claim if something you are travelling on disappears, sinks or crashes and you are presumed dead and your body is not found within 12 months.
  • Loss of income. While travelling outside of Australia you are covered in the event that you are injured and become permanently disabled within 30 days and are unable to work. Your travel insurance will pay a benefit of $400 for up to 26 weeks.
  • Permanent disability benefit. Provides you with a benefit if you are injured during your journey and the injury results in you becoming permanently disabled within 12 months. Permanent disability is defined as:
  • The total loss of sight in one or both eyes
  • The loss of use of one hand above the wrist or one foot below the ankle
  • The loss of ability is for at least 12 months and according to a medical specialist will continue indefinitely
Additional Options you can add to your WorldCare Budget Travel Insurance Policy

If you want to further tailor your cover for a specific travel destination or plan, or to suit your family’s circumstances, for example:

  • Specified luggage and personal effects cover. Under this feature of your travel insurance, specified items refers to those which have been listed on your certificate of insurance with a nominated insured sum. Unspecified items are luggage and personal effects which are not individually listed. The maximum amount you can claim for under this feature can be increased to a total of $5,000 cover for specified items.
  • Personal effects exclusions. You are not able to purchase specified cover for jewellery. There is also no cover for bicycles or watercraft, excluding surfboards.
  • Remove standard excess. You can change the standard excess on your travel insurance policy and your premium will be increased to reflect this change.

Your WorldCare Budget Travel Insurance policy isn’t only affordable and easy to manage, it’s easy to apply for too. You can apply for cover with WorldCare insurance if:

  • You are an Australian resident
  • You purchase the policy before you leave Australia
  • Your travel begins and ends in Australia
  • You apply for cover up to 86 years old.

If you are a temporary Australian resident you can also apply for limited cover and you must purchase your cover before you leave Australia and your journey must begin and end in Australia.
