World of Tanks: Team USA and Team USSR to faceoff in the Tankbowl
Community event for the console community.
Last year, a closely-fought World of Tanks match between Team Germany and Team USA went down in history. This year Wargaming wants to rekindle that fire with World on Tanks for consoles. This time, Team USA will be facing off against their cold war arch rivals, Team USSR.
To participate in the TankBowl teams complete in-game tryouts from 15 January to 4 February. Players will be scored on their performance during these tryouts and the best scoring players will be selected to join one of the two teams. Players chosen will earn their spot in the 4-day TankBowl event starting 1 February. Those competing will earn valuable in-game items and bonuses.
Tankers are able to choose which nation they prefer by playing in multiplayer with a Tier 3 or higher Soviet or US tank. Tankers who earn 100 points for their chosen nation move on from the tryouts and contribute to the Tankbowl.
The best qualifying players will be participating in the four-day TankBowl showdown. Each day, players will be receiving points for experience earned in multiplayer battles with their chosen nation’s tanks. Every 15 points earned will result in one completion and a random drop reward. Tankers who earn 110 or more points will be rewarded with the prestigious MVP USA or MVP USSR medal. The nation with the highest average completions after the four days will win TankBowl.
All players who have achieved at least one completion will receive the “Champion M4 Sherman” bundle, which includes a unique 2018 Champion Emblem as their prize. The players who lose will be offered the same prize, but at a discounted price on the store page.
For all players, there are two dedicated TankBowl Team Captain tanks available starting 15 January: the US Tier VIII heavy tank Patriot T26E5 and the Russian Tier VIII heavy tank Object 252U Defender. Both of these powerful vehicles embody the strength of their respective nation and make for a fitting rig for the event. Additionally, TankBowl Emblems are available from 9 January - 5 February, to show your support for your team.
This event is exclusive to the console editions of World of Tanks (Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 4). 4K and HDR will be fully supported for the event on Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro. For more information on TankBowl visit console.worldoftanks.com.
