Pros

  • Receive a $50 eGift Card when you apply by 31 January 2018 and make an eligible purchase by 28 February 2018.
  • Enjoy a waived annual fee for the first year.
  • This card comes with a 0% p.a. for 14 months balance transfer offer.

  • Get 10% off on your first Woolworths shop on selected dates each month.
  • This card provides automatic room upgrade and allows late checkout at Visa Luxury hotels.

Cons

  • Rewards are automatically redeemed in four-month intervals. This gives the cardholder minimal control over the frequency of redeeming rewards and may restrict people from using the voucher when it's convenient for them.
  • The promotional balance transfer offer reverts to the standard cash advance rate of 21.99% p.a. at the end of the introductory period. This means that if you're unable to pay your balance by the end of the promotional period, you'll begin accruing interest on the balance and could lose the savings made initially.

    What constitutes an “eligible purchase”?

    • Staff
      HaroldOctober 19, 2017Staff

      Hi Chris,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

1 point earned for every $1 spent on other eligible purchases. Points are not earned on cash advances, balance transfers or other restricted transactions detailed in the Woolworths Shopping Card Rewards Program Terms and Conditions.

I hope this information has helped.

      Cheers,
      Harold

Thanks Harold. The reason I was asking is because you need to make an “eligible purchase” before you get the gift card bonus thingy. Is an “eligible purchase” basically anything other than those things you’ve listed, plus what appears at the Woolworths site (e.g. gambling transactions, etc.)?

    • Staff
      HaroldOctober 20, 2017Staff

      Hi Chris,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes, in general it has an exclusion. To make sure you only avail the eligible purchases you would need to read first the Woolworths Shopping Card Rewards Program Terms and Conditions.

I hope this information has helped.

      Cheers,

      Hi Judy,

      Thanks for reaching out!
Woolworths Rewards members can earn up to 3 Woolworths Point per $1 spent at Woolworths supermarkets, Woolworths online and BWS.
On this page you can read a more detailed explanation and you can enter how much you’d usually spend each week at Woolworths and its partners to calculate how many Qantas Points you could earn each week or year.

      Cheers,
      Joanne

Can you please clarify whether eligible purchases on the card will qualify me for a $50 or $100 eGift card? There are conflicting information on the Woolworths site & in previous responses listed here.

After receiving my credit card, will I still have 14 months interest free on BT in the following scenario?
    1. Make eligible purchase eg $100 on groceries
    2. Pay off $100 on card balance
    3. THEN arrange balance transfer eg $2000 (in the same payment cycle)
Question 1: will this balance transfer still give me 14 months interest free period?
Question 2: Will I qualify for the eGift card?
    Thanks for your help

      Hi Ronz,

Thanks for your inquiry. Please note that we are not affiliated with Woolworths or any company we feature on our site and so we can only offer you general advice.

To receive 0% p.a. for 14 months on balance transfers, you’ll need to apply for the card by 30 September 2017. Apply before 30 September 2017 and make an eligible purchase by 31 October 2017 and you will receive a $100 eGift Card.

You can take advantage of up to 55 days of interest-free purchases if you pay your balance in full by each due date. This closing balance includes any balance transfer amount or other Promotion-related balances. Remember that this interest-free period applies only to purchases, and not on balance transfers and cash advances. Minimum Repayment is 2.5% of the closing balance or $50, whichever is greater.

You can get this info on this same page. Hope this information helped.

I suggest contacting Woolworths directly for further inquiries.

      Cheers,
      Rench

Hi I have applied for and been approved for a Woolworths credit card. How long will it take to arrive in the mail for me? Will it be several weeks? Is there a temporary ‘card info’ that I can use to make purchases without the physical card (e.g. similar to Woolworth’s temporary everyday rewards card before the actual card arrives)? Thanks for your help

      JonathanSeptember 15, 2017

      Hello Ronz,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Once approved for a Woolworths Credit Card, it will be delivered to you via Australia Post within 5-7 business days. There is no temporary card as the new card requires activation prior usage for security reasons.

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Jonathan

      AnndyAugust 14, 2017Staff

      Hi James,

      Thanks for your question.

Generally, aside from the balance transfer fee, there are no other fees associated with balance transfers.

However, there are other fees attached to a particular credit card. You can check the full details of these fees under the “Fees & Repayments” tab on our credit card review pages.
