Discount carrier Tigerair is launching flights to Bali with some serious discounts, but remember to check the fine print on your travel insurance policy.

13 January 2016: Tigerair is marking the launch of its services to Bali by offering specials on flights from Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. If you fancy an Indonesian holiday but you're nervous about whether you'll be covered by travel insurance because of ash cloud interruptions, you can stop panicking.

For much of 2015, many travel insurance brands specifically excluded any coverage for delays relating to ash cloud activity from Mt Rinjani. This was because the ash cloud became a "known event" once the volcano started erupting. However, since the eruptions have now ceased, travel insurers are again offering cover. You can read more about this on our page about how ash clouds impact travel insurance in Bali.

The fares go on sale from 12pm AEDT on 13 January 2016 until 12pm AEDT on 16 January 2016. As ever, make sure you've checked the full cost of the deal, including charges for baggage and the cost of your return trip. These fares are only one-way, so remember to include the return cost when comparing.

Here are the deals Tigerair is offering.

RouteDatesPrices from
Adelaide-Denpasar (Bali)26 March-19 June$99
Melbourne-Denpasar (Bali)31 March-17 June$139
Perth-Denpasar (Bali)17 April-28 June$79
