No one knows who invented Panic or when it first began. But in the forgotten rural town of Carp, Texas, the game is the only way out. Every summer the graduating seniors risk their lives competing in a series of challenges that force them to confront their deepest fears for the chance to win life-changing money. Anyone can play. Only one will win. Let the games begin.

Panic is a one-hour drama series set in a small Texas town where graduating seniors compete in a series of challenges every summer. Whoever wins gets a cash prize, which for some of the teens is the only way they can afford to get out of town, go to college or build a better life for themselves.

However, this time around the rules have changed. While the big prize is larger than ever, the game has become increasingly dangerous, forcing contestants to confront their biggest fears. Based on the trailer, challenges seem to include being buried alive, so we're expecting the intensity to grow with each episode. Also, is that a… tiger? And is someone trying to fix the games?

Every player has a story and every player is hiding something. However, the action mainly revolves around Heather, who had no plans to compete but can't see any other way out. She's portrayed by Olivia Welch, with the cast also featuring Mike Faist, Jessica Sula, Ray Nicholson, Enrique Murciano, Camron Jones and Jordan Elsass.

Prime Video has a solid track record with YA shows. Back in December, it released The Wilds, a top-notch drama about a group of girls stranded on a deserted island. The action series Hanna, which centres on a young girl raised to be an assassin, is also a gripping watch. We can only hope that Panic will follow suit and keep the audience coming back for more.
