Synopsis

14-year-old Yusuke Urameshi suddenly finds himself dead, having died pushing a child out of the way of oncoming traffic. Since he has such a bad personality, even the Spirit World was caught by surprise that he would sacrifice himself. Yusuke soon finds out he wasn't supposed to die and has a chance for resurrection and bringing his body back to life.

After Yusuke, a teen who is also a bit of a delinquent, is killed by a car while attempting to save a child's life, he enters the spirit realm.

The authority figures there are surprised by his sacrifice and offer him an opportunity to regain his life. Yusuke becomes a special type of detective, tasked with investigating cases that involve mysterious apparitions in the human world.

An older, but highly enjoyable anime, Yu Yu Hakusho stands out thanks to its engaging storylines and intriguing characters. It's a fun series with lots of fight scenes – and it successfully stands the test of time.
